I am a fan of music. Its that simple. To me, music is the feeling behind the lyrics. Its a picture of feelings. Great songs music will always put you in the mood for the story or message. for example, Turn The Page by Bob Segar. The music is not the most complicated or difficult to play. But the music is a perfect mood setter. The guitar sounds like a bus truckin down the highway, the sax sounds like noisy car horn in the distance and the overall feel is very blan (strung out from the road). If you close your eyes you can really feel your self on the road. I think that is where alot of bands turn off course. There is alot of music out there that is just lyrics and music with no real thought about if they compliment each other or if the music sets the mood for the story. Music can take us away from our lives, let us forget about our problems. It can also be somthing you relate to. Like drug abuse or even remind you of your mom. But my point is, music has to lead you in to the story. Paint the image in your mind. Music is a powerfull thing.
