Welcome to PROWL...Currently, a Solo Gothic Black Metal project established in Burbank, CA. This project is a derivative of gothic black metal music known as PROPHETIC METAL... It was introduced to the world originally in mid 2005. It is the brain child of “DAMNATUL AZAZEL†Current album in the works "Sacred Ground of Pestilence". Record Label is Indie "Prowl Musik" and is owned by the band. One currently active founding band member : "Damnatul Azazel†(Vocals, Guitars and Keys)

PROWL is a phylosophy, PROWL is a music project, but above all, it is one's life's work, tourmented journey and arrival to absolution through deep levels of observation, self sacrifice and possibly through the internalization and channeling of pain received from those from the ranks of the forbidden, forsaken and the fallen...
The project's founder “Damnatul Azazel†originally of Romania, has evolved the projects roots originally Gothic/Industrial and Black Metal in nature, into a new breed of metal he conceived called "Prophetic Metal". Originally a progressive metal singer who has been part of numerous bands throughout the decades, his first endeavour started in early 1989 in a band called "Whistful Eye" which was a derivative of progressive metal reminiscent of early Queensryche. The band experienced quite a bit of success in this primal stages, doing shows around the San Diego music scene and could only be described as "epic" context wise. The band would finish off the night with one particular infamous song from Queensryche called "Queen of the Reich"! "Whistful Eye" had one professional demo produced. Founding band members were Jeff Keck (Lead Guitars), Louis Herrera (Drums), "Damnatul Azazel" (Vocals) and Kirston Keck (Bass).
After about half a dozen or so tryouts for various metal and progressive rock bands around San Diego, another significant step was taken closer to the conceivement of PROWL when vocalist "Damnatul Azazel" joined a doom metal band in mid nineghties called Magne. Magne was the brainchild of one guitarist known as Michael Felder. This was a great challenge vocally but it yelded a different musical path for "Damnatul Azazel" which exposed the inner sentiment of rage and sentimental projection that is such a significant key of the later element which developed into the work of PROWL. There he found exposure to the works of early Cradle of Filth and many other european and nordic metal bands such as the likes of Children of Bodom, Old Man's Child, Dimmu Borgir and especially King Diamond who he has been a huge fan of from his early teens. Musically Magne was different and the epidemy of something new. A couple shows have been done by the band opening for signed bands such as "Cage" signed on Omega Records in Germany and "LA Guns" from Los Angeles, CA. Due to severe professional differences, "Damnatul Azazel" moved on in search of the ultimate progressive metal band, but that endeavour failed for many years to come due to the impeding action formed by the arival of Grunge Metal into the scene.
Some significant bands worth mentioning that helped pave the way for modern day PROWL were prog metal band "Inexistence" which formed in San Diego, CA. in the middle of the millenium and "Sound Cancer" which formed in Oceanside, CA. "Inexistence" was a very heavy progressive band whose influences ranged from Pantera and Testament. Although a guest vocalist for the band, "Damnatul Azazel" did a couple shows with the band including "Blind Mellon's" in San Diego and a memorable show at “Dublin's†in Mammoth Mountains. Although metal was not exactly on the menu at “Dublin's†where the newer styles of Hardcore and Rap-metal seemed to be more prevalent, the band did manage to blow the roof off the building with their shredding performance and agressive style...Professional differences and age differences caused "Damnatul Azazel" to move on to one last significant band worth mentioning, "Sound Cancer"…

Sound Cancer founder and vocalist "Scapegoat" also known as Graham Watson has invited "Damnatul Azazel" to cooperate on a progressive black metal project called "Sound Cancer". Graham "Scapegoat" Watson formerly of "Intertwined" thought it would be a good idea to have "Damnatul Azazel's" three octave range as a harmonizing element into his band. Since the band was very fond of vocalists such as King Diamond and Dany Filth they thought that it might be a good fit, especially with the addition of keyboards into the mix, since "Damnatul Azazel" could play keys.
This was the most extreme project I have done to date other than PROWL, said "Damnatul Azazel" and although only a guest vocalist on the project with only one show under his belt performed in San Marcos, CA. The show was an extreme success and the beginning of something new. The theme of the band was similar to nordic black metal meets death metal and have drawn some of its influences from the likes of Death, early Halford, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom and Dimmu Borgir with “Scapegoat’s†unique twist of political and religious views.
There was a quick split with the band due to the fact that two vocalists do not work well together for too long when conceptual and personal differences creped in that made proceeding in that musical direction practically impossible. Soon after "Damnatul Azazel's" departure, Sound Cancer split up due to personality conflicts and one of the founding member's exodus from the band. The arrival to the modern day Prophetic Metal band PROWL was done at a time of complete dismay and disillusion as to what particular musical direction should be taken. Already disappointed with the crumbling metal scene and with the gothic/industrial scene on the cusp of disappearing from the underground consciousness, there was no set direction for the band to follow into. This changed with the arrival of giants "Dimmu Borgir" and "Cradle of Filth" back in the scene. Black Metal seemed to be embraced strongly, particularly in Finland, Norway and throughout Europe. This type of music seemed isolated to descreete, underground circles of fans and this brought renewed hope for the possibility of pushing something new and radically and conceptually different.
The signature sound of PROWL can be recognized from the super heavy "Mesa Boogie" guitar sound mixed with heavy "Korg synths" for ambience and the lamenting, tortured raspy vocals of "Damnatul Azazel" screaming up to 7th heaven!
The project follows a new direction which is the foundation of "Prophetic Lament" in the music brought about by beliefs in Kabalah and Budhism mixed in with "Grimmoire" references and Angelic Lore. Most of the content revolves around "Kabahlic" and "Angelic Lore" which expose the human condition before the eyes of god and speak with authority as if the will of god was bestowed and expressed through their music. The band has a few influences they draw from, most notably, King Diamond, Cradle of Filth, Anorexia Nervosa, Old Man's Child and Type-O-Negative. The most current album in the work is the on going "Sacred Ground of Pestilence". It is an album that reveals a multitude of prophecies that will occur at the turn of the millennium. Although in a class of its own, the album is super dark and emotional, heavy ambient and filled with the rage of angels appearing before god to lament about the human ignorance and sacrifice that is overtaking a troubled, crumbling world.
PROWL is currently in the studio adding finishing touches on the soon to be released album "Sacred Ground of Pestilence" . The project holds it's own private label PROWL MUSIK and also runs a small production studio in Burbank, CA.

PROWL (Prophetic Realm Overtures of Wisdom and Light)
May be somewhat indicative of the pain of the stigma
suffered as a result of the mark delivered upon those like myself
by the first father to become the deterrent of mankind "humanus angelus",
but through the gifts of the second sight, I, just like many others
before me were one of the handful of mystic messengers and self-proclaimed
visionaries known as the receivers of white light "niveus lux lucis".
In recent times, we have found ourselves plagued with a never ending
grinding battle whose main purpose is to help others govern and
release their discontent with a system that has failed them sporadically
and systematically. Some of these tortured and tormented individuals
have been for quite some time, enduring the exclusive, selective and
isolationist movement started by the creatures of the new order
"creatura de novus ordo".
For me, it is a mission of passion, understanding and sacrifice. It is
an exclusion of one selfness for the love of others and the love of our
father that giveth us light to see this injustice and at the same time
cast us all into darkness so that we may feel the wrath of rejection at
the ever illusive price of digressive regeneration and ultimate demise.
It is in this light that we see the injustice that lies in this world
and identify the lies cast upon us and it is in the darkness that we are
allowed to regenerate and find pure strength to lift the evil veil laid
upon our eyes by the soulless ones...
The battle for the truth goes on...It is not an easy one! So behold the
glorious chants of angels and look up to the light of heaven for there
lies the foundation of truth and the lies commingling as one, much like
an immaculate blanket of pure white snow with the dirt of human ignorance
and fake existentiality mixed in...Perhaps the darkness is the absence of
light yet the ultimate origin of truth...Fallen angels gather at the edge
of this eternal darkness for it is the epicenter where god started his
illusive work...
Light is also the ultimate distraction, the optical illusion that gives
us self inflicted righteousness and the delusion that we are more colorful
and beautiful than all others yet we are obsessive enough, vain enough,
ungrateful, depraved and unfulfilled...It is a short lived biomechanism,
this flawed, skin suit of ours, deceptive enough to make us feel immortal
as we mysteriously wither and fall short at the end of each breaking day,
barely recognizable or capable of recycling ourselves through it's vicious
cycle of rebirth. We rise proud and immortal from those ashes only to fall
back down helpless, mortal and shortchanged...
Thus we live each passing, dying day selfishly at the hands of the virtues
derived from our self destructive patterns brought about by a systemic
decaying and demoralizing trend...We never learn from this self inflicted
demagogy for our own pride and hunger for "self worship" holds us back. We
are not capable of ever accepting the real truth as it has shown itself
repeatedly in the omens...
Hell is thus unleashed upon god's sheep...Hell is upon us now and it has
always been here we just never noticed it clearly defined...We have made our own version of hell here on earth and we are now the inheriting resident demons of this domain of chaos whose lustful benevolence has also been instilled and passed down into our own offspring...We have learned absolutely nothing through the turn of the faltering and withering centuries...
Our beloved father will destroy us slowly but surely...We refuse to understand why, although most of it is just a self induced causality effect, a resource intensive devouring pattern, without the means for reconstruction of what is displaced and eternally lost from his kingdom. In pure neglect we have also been known to assume the endless tolerance and acceptance of our own sins as a free ticket to salvation into heaven.
Thus how could we ever fully understand the virtues of his true glory and the lessons he passed down onto us? Our only quest lies in the endless pursuit of flesh...
As a result of our spreading, corrosive mentality and deeply prevailing ignorance, at the end of the day we will have received all flavors of his anguish...Our problems are one too many! Yet this is our mission and perhaps the last chance to try to understand the WRONG in the RIGHT...This is our damnation and endless suffering, this is our version of hell...ETERNUS OBSCURUM...AMEN...
