PAUL NEVERMIND is probably the only Lithuanian librarian (he works in the library of Vilnius University) with such a unusual and sincere second passion. Because at the same time, Paul Nevermind aka popx (born Povilas Pauplys) is a dedicated Lithuanian music maker, one of the most popular bloggers on clubbing and life in Lithuania, a true fan of Ableton software and Sonic Youth...Paul Nevermind started his career as underground punk zine Enjoy This Fucking Day editor and tape sampling techniques explorer in early 90s. In 1996 he initiated one of the first Kaunas dance music parties at Pakalne and became a founding member of pioneering Lithuanian rave project Zveriukai together with DJ Karalius. Later, he moved on to investigate real life in London, visiting all available parties of then looming scene - from East London raves to Brighton Big Beach Boutique… and shaped his own record collection on the way.Back in Vilnius, Paul Nevermind soon became a resident of small cozy parties in Vilnius Old Town. As POPX, he also spinned at Kulturos Tvartas (warming up for cult Ukrainian band 5nizza) and Vilnius Days 2004 festivals. He traveled as far as Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, Denmark to play a solo set for novelty thirsty crowd. And then he discovered the minimal sound…This year, his new music mixes emerged in the stylish Lithuanian radios “Zip FMâ€, “Opus 3â€. He is planning to release his first solo studio material. And to play on the banks of the river Spree, of course...
