Born in the Bronx, raised Yonkers. It wasn't with his first breath in 1986 that Ronny O began his hip hop destiny. Unlike other artists, this story begins even before his birth. Music is in his blood.
When his mother was sent to the slums of New Orleans at the age of 20 to pursuit a singing and acting career, there was no way of predicting those dreams would die in 1986 after the birth of Ronny. Staying in New Orleans, she was exposed to cocaine, violence and the New Orleans hype, but ambition was the single thing that kept her going. It is this ambition that kept Ron out of serious trouble while growing up after his parent's violent divorce and after several moves. (Ron) I don't have that many memories of my pops even now my strongest memory of him is the night before we moved away. After the police put him in the cruiser, I remember asking my mom "is daddy coming back" and she said "yea, but we aren't "
Hip hop is usually littered with numerous stories bragging of rags to riches, some of which can never be confirmed as truth or dare. The truth is that after fleeing New York to Canada with little to no money in her pockets Ron's mother was forced to work under a fake name at a 9-5 job which barely made ends meet, that shortly after, an anonymous phone call to immigration landed Ronny and his family a six month stay in an immigration detention centre and that shortly after that, fed up with living with relatives, she was left no choice but to seek refuge at a shelter in downtown Toronto.321 Jarvis. This was where Ron began and ran with the dream his mom had left behind. Being surrounded by pimps, prostitutes, and drug dealers on this street only fueled his lyrical wordplay. It wasn't long before he became popular for his talents at school and in his neighborhood.
In 2001 Ron's mother embraced an opportunity to move to another city outside of Toronto to secure a co-op condo and a chance to raise the kids in a less aggressive environment. Shortly after the move their new home burned down and a few years later, his younger sister C.J died due to her disability. This was a hard time for Ron and he found that the only way to cope with it was by bleeding through a pen and paper.
In 2004 an acquaintance from school obtained a demo cd from Ron which landed into the hands of a young Producer and founder of a new Label imprint name C!. After listening to the demo that contained a well crafted track called "love and hate" C! requested a meeting and immediately jumped at the opportunity to work with the hungry rapper.
Often referred to as Canada's Next rap god, he plans to deliver a paid in full collection of hit songs to burn the radio dials and honor the streets.
