and the cat came back the very next day, they thought she was a goner but the cat came back.

About Me

My home - much like the Kelvingrove - is full of much eclectic rubbish, a swearing parrot (but not the really bad words), copious amounts of cats, stacks of books and equal stacks of records and cds. I'm old fashioned - I am going kicking and screaming into the 21st century, I eat organic, refuse to microwave, think air fresheners (especially Febreeze and all its relatives) are evil, find aftershave nauseating, Hate Wal-mart and most other big box stores, believe in conspiracy theories and Camelot and would have preferred to be born in Wales as I truly understand the meaning of hiraeth.

This is fabulous - you must watch this - is a direct order - band called threethirteen playing a couple tunes - one solo and then one with most of the band

My Interests

I am surrounded by mountains of clutter, a screaming parrot, copious amounts of cats, stacks of books and equal stacks of records and cds. I'm old fashioned - would rather hire someone to take phone messages than have an answering machine, refuse to microwave, think air fresheners are evil, find aftershave nauseating, Hate Walmart and most other big box stores, believe in conspiracy theories and Camelot and would have prefered to be born in Wales as I truly understand the meaning of hiraeth.

I'd like to meet:

I thought I had met most of the music people I wanted to meet at least once - JJ Cale, Mike Peters, Harry Chapin, Justin Sullivan, John Hammond, Dan Hicks, Ryan Star, Stoney, etc.- everyone that is except maybe Van Morrison (when he was in his bitter twenties), Sam Cooke and Justin Currie, who I'm not sure I really want to meet as he might turn out to be a total git albeit a very talented one ( Just click below to hear one of my fav's of his) but I am discovering that as I find new music that I love I am starting a whole new list of people I would love to meet. Isn't life wonderful that way. And so it goes.......Below's a current fave - Love Christine's voice....And Below is one of my favorite singer/songwriters - Bill Coleman

Music:

equals life blood ------ I am going to see Frightened Rabbit, Threethirteen, The Hold Steady, Monkeyboy and good old Roddy Woomble in Scotland in September and possibly a few others if I can fit everything in.

Movies:

84 Charing Cross Road, Hopscotch, Serenity, Blade Runner, Harold and Maude, Eternal Sunshine and a few dozen others.

Television:

Seems a waste to be paying the cable bills as the only thing I am currently watching on it is the fabulous SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. love it.

Books:

Just about half of any library - far too numerous to name. I LOVE TO READ. I am never without a book - EVER. Finished it.

Heroes:

There is something heroic in just about everyone.

Rant - well more of a whimper and a moan really

My father is both British and cheap and as we were growing up the two words became interchangeable. British meant cheap. Not frugal mind you - that would have meant some admirable trait of penny pinch...

A sad day at the salt mine

I have just gotten back from attending an office party. This one, however, was far different from any I have ever been to in the past. It was in fact a wildly sad affair. We were all there to honour a...
