When these two like minded gentleman sat down a few years ago to discuss a possible business venture the subject of music came up. “I remember I had just gotten off of a ski trip with a lady friend in Aspen, I have a timeshare there.”Says Ian a handsome but sincere Nebraskan who is known in certain circles as a very 'aware' person “Winn called me up and said ‘listen have I got some news for you’. I trusted his judgement when it came to business matters. He was young but he knew the business side of things and had an undeniable wit about him. My response : when and where!” This meeting would unknowingly launch these men into a journey they would never forget and always remember. Music. “Ian was the only person I could think of who would want to jump into something risky. Sure he’d made a name for himself and some nice capital in the late 80’s with the stock market but I knew he was bored” Winn is a man of notable physical stature. His eyes say it all. “So we are sitting there and Ian is rehashing all these old stories about how when he made 80’s money half of it was spent on cocaine, women and cars. “I said listen. I want to invest in nanotechnology and a few small internet companies, I want you onboard and I‘m not taking no for an answer” Over the next few days they found themselves discussing financial matters, a potential business plan, other investors,potential risks and losses and then one day after a brainstorming session they took a quick break. “I remember it vividly. While we were taking a break and standing in line at the Times Square Starbucks Winn started describing this club he went to in Ibiza, Spain it was called The Cocoon. He was talking about the great techno music they were playing and how good it made him feel and it reminded me of my days in the 80’s when I would spend a days in offices crunching numbers and networking and I would just want to let loose as so as I got out of the place. That’s when I would go to these clubs downtown in Manhattan and see all these different people dancing to this music and I’d think to myself ‘I’m having a great time’ Upon hearing this Ian wondered if it were in his destiny to make music. “At the exact point I was thinking that to myself Winn starts telling me about his friend Mark whom he has been writing some of techno music with then he asked me if I‘d ever had any interest in that kind of thing…I knew then it was a sign from God that we were on a path to make excellent dance music for people to dance to” The name you’re wondering?
