2007 has been an important year in Omaha based DJ and producer Aaron Lee’s thirteen year career. From shows, to original works and remixes, to promoting major events in his hometown, Aaron Lee has fully established himself locally and regionally, and has no plans on slowing down. Aaron Lee recently marked his 5th year as resident DJ and entertainment director at Omaha’s Elite EDM venue, Bar 415, and rarely has a weekend night where he is not DJing either locally or regionally. He has teamed up with various local promoters, and has had a hand in recently bringing Noel Sanger, Alex Peace, Blake Jarrell, and has lent his support to Wreckless Recordings constant booking of world class techno DJs including Magda, Marco Corola, JPLS, Florian Meindl, and several others this past year. He has had several mixes featured on Radio RMI FM out of Poznan, Poland, and is a monthly live set resident for www.ultramusique.com, a hugely successful live set download website. He and his partner, Daniel LaRusso started Giant Squid Recordings at the end of 2006 and are currently on their 12th release, and have obtained distribution on several digital download sites including TrackitDown, Resonant Vibes, Juno and Beatport. Aaron Lee has another 6 months of releases in the works, as well as tracks and remixes forthcoming on Wreckless Recordings, Lavish Nightlife, and Deep Life Records. Aaron and Dan have also teamed up with the internet radio station www.sensegenerate.FM for a bimonthly show called “The Ultramusique Sessions” airing every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 1pm (-6GMT) featuring themselves with special guests every week. Aaron is also a member of Syntax Sounds International, a collection of DJs from all over the world that works to find avenues of promotion for each other through a cooperative network. With track support from Peter Pain, Serge Devant, Blake Jarrell, and other key players in the worldwide EDM scene, a relentless schedule of appearances, his tracks being played in every major city in the world, and hours of studio time behind him, Aaron Lee is well on his way to international recognition in worldwide dance music culture.
Here's a super sweet video for "No Escape" that Joe did for me!!
I've been doing this techno thing for a long, long time. Twelve years of DJing in and around Omaha has made me appreciate the music and the people of this scene and I hope to continue to do this as long as I possibly can. I'm very happy this little town has given me the oppourtunity to play music for them, and I am especially grateful to www.ultramusique.com for pimping my monthly mixes on their website and to Bar 415 for my 5+ year residency and for making me the artist representative and giving me control over the schedule of fine DJs that Omaha and the region has to offer. Now I'm starting to get into the producing thing a bit and I am loving that just as much. Nothing like playing your own tracks and watching the dancefloor move to what is totally and completely yours. I've played alongside countless "headlining" DJs and have come to the conclusion that most of them, although good at what they do (most of the time), are no better at their craft than a lot of us who are unknown. Omaha has some unbelievable talent as far as DJs go...Lunatik and Plan 9, both label owners and fine DJs and producers, Glenn Okada, Myth, Danny Maze and William Kennedy...some of the most technically gifted DJs I have had the pleasure of working with, and dozens of others, too many to list here. I'm sure that we're not the only city with this level of talent. My goal is to get some talent from Omaha gigs in other cities, as well as get some of you unknown DJs from other cities a chance here. Feel free to shoot me a message about anything at any time.
Rave On!!!
