I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I like smart people. I am attracted to people with ideas that inspire them and passion about their dreams. I also think being a good listener is half of being a good communicator. It's important to have something in your life to get excited about. Thoughtfulness and patience are important to me as well as inspiration. I most value trust and communication. Being artsy or nerdy is a big plus! I am a fully employed professional musician. I teach music and own a recording studio. I have my own jazz/rock band and play with other bands in Massachusetts. My hobbies are going for long walks, biking (I rode over 1,000 miles total last year!) mountain hiking, swimming, classical and jazz concerts, movies, restaurants (I really love going out to nice restaurants) museums, art galleries, photography, astronomy and cosmology. I'm not into organized sports and I don't have a fast car. I almost always vote democrat. I can be a little nerdy but I am extremely passionate too. I like a nice merlot. I like to garden and hang out by my frog pond. I make really great omelets and stir-fries. I also like NPR and PBS and really, really love coffee. And the New York Times. Usually, when I'm not playing music myself I have classical music on the radio filling the house or nothing at all!I have a new CD! (My 6th) It's called Picasso Tomato. All original music spanning jazz, rock and folk with classical touches. The Music Of Doug Hewitt website: www.doughewitt.net -with audio samples of all the songs. Plus theres more pictures of me there!Myspace music page where you can hear some of my music: http://www.myspace.com/doughewittMy recording studio: http://www.hewittunes.comGuitar Lessons: http://www.hewittunes.com/guitarlessons.htmlI am inspired by the fact the we walked on the moon so many years ago. That took real vision -and blood, sweat and tears. I like paying taxes for helping, feeding and educating people and art and science and sending robots to mars and funding symphonies and beautiful paintings and protecting the environment. I strongly object to paying for war. I believe government should be an instrument of good. And discrimination should never be written into the constitution.

My Interests

democracy, art, music and science, jazz, quality rock, classical, cosmology and astronomy, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars Explorer Rovers. The impeachment of George W Bush.

I'd like to meet:

People who are inspired. Aliens. Buddha. Artists. People who know how to use the organ between their ears. Good listeners. Good thinkers. I like smart, artistic, happy, healthy people who have ideas that inspire them and are passionate about their dreams. Someone who knows that being a good listener is half of being a good communicator. People who can get excited by life without losing too much perspective. Thoughtfulness and patience are important to me as well as inspiration.
