About Psilanthropy
This Anglo-Russian metal outfit have taken the metal sound and done something which is hard to do today.. They've made it their own.
"Come and see why Psilanthropy are the band in York that is going places, they do for music what Bin Ladin does for terrorists!" - James Carr (Stage Pass Promotions)Psilanthropy? What? How do you say it? How do you spell it? What does it mean? Fuck that! Psilanthropy are an upcoming band from York, breaking through a thick layer of emo and indie mucus, to sit their cock rock arses at the top!
It's hard to define Psilanthropy's genre or style of music, put it can be put simply with this formula...
Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll + Youth + Guitar Shreddery + Epic Emotion & Humour + Funk = Psilanthropy!
BUT! It doesn't finish with the music. Psilanthropy put on a show you won't forget, you can mosh to it, skank to it, shag to it, whatever the hell you want to it!
Regular fan drunkard Sozzy Bozzard says a Psi gig is "a fusion of crazy, well performed, excitable music and fantastic fans to create something that other bands can only dream of building"
Yeah, it's so good, even a bloody drunk remembers it!
So are you a bit of a nutcase? Like a good pit? Too pissed to understand progressive metal but not THAT pissed that you can't enjoy a normal rock show? Find it hilarious when a 7 foot tall bassist pulls a straining face? Hate those fucking "tribute" bands who sound like every other pissing band that's famous already? Love OLD SCHOOL METAL?
Look no further! Come to a Psilanthropy gig!
BiographyWas it not for the curiosity of one Luke Hudson, Psilanthropy may have never become a band. For once, his curiosity had paid off, and started something incredible. All he wanted to know was how good Valeri Popov was, on the guitar. Regardless of the quality, the pair quickly became a guitar duet, an indie one at that. The steady affair continued this way for many a month, smoothly moving on through the months in a gentle rocking fashion.
But suddenly, the steamy issue had turned into a vicious triangle. But not the vicious of hatred. No, this was the vicious attitude of Andy Wilsons entrance on the couple. CAN I PLAY BASS WITH YOUS TWOS he proclaimed. The twosome reluctantly agreed. The reluctance wasnt necessarily indispensable, the triplet was beginning to find it easier to play, and as the affair sustained, the resonance, which had previously been rather murky, had evolved, and evolved into something wonderful. It was settled. The triplet must move on, and become a quartet. An orgy of beautiful din.
The three had hooked up with a new companion, Sam Anderson, whose passionate beats made the perfect relationship. What had been indie, had now become metal, and sturdy, firm and sizzling songs came one after another after another. The foursome had performed their first striking act upon the great stage of Fulford School. But something was missing. It needed more love, the guys needed to give it more, and harder.
Which is why close friend Liam Bryan was seduced to join the secure partnership. The boys now had a wonderful assortment, something to be proud of and something to scream loud about. They felt the whole world should know about the strong bond between the 5 strapping young men. As they toured, showing off their magnificent package, the music got harder and harder. Despite this, theyll never reach climax, the compositions will only get stiffer, as their bond becomes unbreakable.
