Black Sonic Prophets
Only a short two years after getting together, Liechtensteins BLACK SONIC PROPHETS, whose unique musical identity houses somewhere in the neighborhood of Velvet Revolver, Nickelback and Metallica, are already generating international attention. Thanks to their own tireless initiative and wealth of talent, theyve already managed to establish an extremely professional website internet presence, three independent releases, innumerable club gigs and festival appearances, two major tours and even their own international Street-Team.
But first things first: Shortly after their formation, the quartet recorded the single, Rockstar, garnering attention beyond their local borders. This led to the involvement of American producer Jeff Collier (Donots, 3 Colours Red, Exilia & many more), who then produced and supervised the sessions for the 2005 release, The Broken EP, praised by rock critics from New York to Berlin to Athens, as well as the live DVD, The Official Bootleg. Their unceasing live activities in neighboring Germany, Austria, Switzerland and at home in Liechtenstein gradually began to arouse the attention of larger booking and management agencies, providing BLACK SONIC PROPHETS with the platform to appear before larger audiences at renowned festivals such as Bochum Total, or as the Special Guests on the 10-show Germany/Austria/Switzerland tour of rising Finnish stars, Negative.
True to form, Maethi (vox, guit.), Marco (guit.), Raimund (bass) and Roli (drums) took full advantage of these opportunities and left audiences everywhere screaming for more with their energetic sound, uniting the best of Alternative-Rock and Heavy Metal with their own BSP signature. Their bulldozer grooves, grinding riffs, melodic, passionate vocal arrangements and sweat-soaked performances conquered the Negative fans in droves, resulting in a virtually complete sell-out of their entire merchandise inventory by the end of the tour, in particular The Broken EP.
The band has recently returned to the studio with producer Jeff Collier to record new material that is both heavier and hookier at the same time. The hard work and tireless effort were finally rewarded with a recording contract with Finnish rock label, HYPE RECORDS. On this label with close links to glam rockers NEGATIVE, BLACK SONIC PROPHETS are in good company with bands like SO CALLED PLAN and FLINCH. With HYPE on board, all systems are 'GO!' and the first album is scheduled for release in Autumn 2006.
BLACK SONIC PROPHETS confidently demonstrate against all the odds that you dont have to be from New York, Los Angeles, Seattle or Vancouver to stake your claim in todays alternative rock scene!
