About Me

In consequence of always being a rock fan Julian Kleiss originally wanted to become a rock guitarist. But things changed when he saw and listened to the Canadian acoustic guitarist Don Ross the first time. Fascinated of the possibilities of the instrument he spent innumerable nights with the acoustic guitar. At the age of 12 Julian came to the school of music, luckily for him to an ideal teacher, openly for all guitaristic tricks: Thomas Biebl. Since autumn 2004 Julian Kleiss attends the guitar class of Michael Langer at the Anton Buckner University, as well as the music high school in Linz. Studies at the Konservatorium Wien University followed. After an audition at the Herbert von Karajan Centrum in 2006 Julian was taken up in its high talented promotion program JAW - Junge Akademie Wien. One week later he won the final of the international guitar competition "Open Strings 2006" with three self-compositions and is thus at the age of 16 by far its youngest winner all-time.
