Thierry Farrugia started playing music at the age of 10. Following many years of studying saxophone and bassoon at the "Conservatoire de Pau", he entered into the world of creativity and improvisation with local groups. It has to be said that his awakening into this world was often while accompanying many impressive young local French musicians (Jean Marie Ecay, Fr..d..ric Gaillardet, Francis Lassus, Thierry Eliez, etc ...).
Following a year at the CIM in Paris, he joined "La Compagnie Lubat". Where upon, he shared many rich experiences with a wide variety of artists such as Bernard Lubat, Louis Sclavis, Claude Nougaro, Michel Portal, Fran..ois Jeanneau, Eddy Louis, Marc Perrone among others...
The following four years brought about a change of scenery with a Spanish Pop Music period. This period entailed numerous recordings and tours :"Miguel Rios", "la Orchesta Mondragon" with the guitarist Ray Gomez (Stanley Clarke), "La Noche" with the guitarist Jean Marie Ecay (Billy Cobham), "Ruper Ordorhika", "Los Especialistas"...
Thierry Farrugia then returned to France, where he went on to form the group "Sax Machine" (acid Jazz, funk) which lead to numerous festivals resulting in the self-financed production of a record which was never distributed.
In 1995 he returned to Paris from where, to date, he plays in a wide variety of recordings and world tours. He worked alongside the singer guitarist producer Mark Anthony Jones (D' Angelo, Janet Jackson ...) in New York (most notably on album and concerts at CBJB !) and in Europe.
These recent years spent in Paris have been marked by his acquaintance with the trumpeter Christian Martinez with whom he has formed the brass section of the "Paris Horns" (www.paris-horns.com).
Yanagisawa, B&S, Brancher and Vandoren are among some of the artists who have worked with "Paris Horns". Numerous "Master Class" and demos have been organised in Europe since 2003.
"Blue Box" was created in 2005 (electro lounge) in collaboration with "Cortella". The album was released in 2006 under the label "Noegene Music"
