No doubt that STEPHANE CASTRY represents the future of a whole west Indians musicians generation.Grown up in a family environment where music is an heritage presents in his everyday life, he got interested in violin very young, and this is at the age of 14th that the bass became his predilections instrument.Stéphane pursue thus his apprenticeship by following, or integrating divers music groups in Guadeloupe, where is comes from.His meetings with local musicians artists gave him the keys necessary to evolve in the profession he has definitely chosen.After having studied at the American Business School of Modern Art of Paris, he dedicates his talent to music.In this way, Jazz, Funk, Zouk, Caribean traditional music, Raï, RnB, and other styles dont have any secret for this dynamic bassist whom authenticity, simplicity and rigor are all associated with harmony.
Requested on scene by many artists or groups of different horizons as: KASSAV, BEETHOVA OBAS, LES NUBIANS,JM ROTIN , FAUDEL, CUNNIE WILLIAMS ,SINCLAIR, AYO, ANGELIQUE KIDJO, SOUAD MASSI to mention only these ones, his exceptional course, rich of many different collaborations, makes him today a reference in the profession.His musical stamp, defined by a fascinating sound which lives on his experience, is also represented in many albums, since the fluency of his phrase, the richness of his improvisations, and his plays technicality, make him one of these young instrumentalists with an amazing punch, whom future has to be followed.
STEPHANE CASTRY (Bassiste,Compositeur,Arrangeur,Réalisateur) Représente, sans aucun doute l'avenir d'une génération de musiciens antillais. Issu d'un milieu familial où la musique est un héritage qui s'associe avec le quotidien, il s'intéresse dès son plus jeune âge au violon, et c'est à 14 ans que la basse devient son instrument de prédilection.Stéphane poursuit donc son apprentissage en suivant ou en intégrant des formations musicales diverses en GUADELOUPE son pays d'origine. Ses Rencontres avec des artistes musiciens locaux lui donneront quelques clés pour son évolution dans le métier qu'il s'est choisi. Après avoir étudié au conservatoire et à l'AMERICAN SCHOOL OF MODERN MUSIC DE PARIS, il met son talent au service de la musique.Ainsi : JAZZ , SOUL , FUNK, ZOUK, MUSIQUE TRADITIONNELLE, RAÃ, RNB,et autres variétés n'ont plus de secret pour ce bassiste dynamique dont l'authenticité, la simplicité et la rigueur s'associent avec l'harmonie.
