Hey, what's up? I'm Akilah, 27, born and raised here in the Nappy City. I am a writer for AMPS Magazine, Indianapolis Edition. AMPS (African-aMerican People Succeeding) delivers information about the minority community that is seldom talked about, and in many cases unknown to many, but should undoubtedly be highlighted. This magazine is a voice for the positive events going on in the African American community today. In each issue, we highlight various businesses, hot sports topics, local entertainment, historically black colleges and universities, and health related issues that are common in the minority communities. Our goal is to gain national attention. Currently, the overall readership for AMPS is 1.5 million readers with our southern and mid-west regions, which includes approximately 70,000 in the Metro-Indy area.
