VIENNA SCIENTISTS CLUBNIGHT - A FAMILY AFFAIR - A Viennese record label that is rich in tradition, has not just built an international network with collegues akin, but has always been very present in the clubs of its hometown. The main protagonists have now decided to have the legendary Roxy as a kind of enlarged living room for regular DJ sessions. All the active artists on the label meet inbetween their weekend duties every fourth Thursday. Talking about DJs and producers such as labelhead Jürgen Drimal (Freedom Satellite), Gernot Ebenlechner (Freedom Satellite), Markus Dohelsky (Shanti Roots), Marcello Armetta (The Menheads) and Stefan Obermaier, you think of artists who are searching for a soul in contemporary electronic music and looking for deepness rather than to scratch the surface only. Consequently their musical spectrum embraces warm, dubby sounds as well as funky grooves, may they be straight or broken, but also harder electronic tunes - dependent on the mood and DJ, a very broad concept which coincides in the trademark signature of the Scientists way of combining the right ingredients to a homogeneous set.
