Dancehallmusic.de - The Soundtrack Vol. 1 (June 2006)
This compilation cd is the result of a competition on dancehallmusic.de all artists and producers were called for tunes. The turn-out was overwhelming: countless tunes were sent in and are now making this cd an interesting snapshot of the reggae underground in Germany: from Roots to bashmentstyle Dancehall to Dub, sung in German, English/Patois, French, Russian and Turkish. E.g. the Turkish Katil Bana by one of the most promising artists outta Berlin, VolkanikMan; or the collaboration of the Berlin-Russian band Rotfront with local Dancehall singer Smo are giving this cd a special local flavor. In addition to this, more talented newcomers such as Manu Ranking, Don Sharicon, Finga & Sharade or the well-known reggae band Irie Revoltes are featured. A must for fans of home-grown dancehall.
