About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

Hi all. This is a band profile but truth be told it's actually my personal profile because I play with so many bands and compose so many different types of music. I'm a 32 year old composer and saxophonist from Belfast, Ireland. I work and have work with lots of different bands.
Bands I work with are Spree ( http://www.myspace.com/spree ), the Drum n Bass band, Giant Steps a Jazz standards band, The Lewis Smith quartet (and trio), an original modern Jazz band, Belcrash , some nu-jazz and Alty my newest project, which is a sextet playing original modern jazz/classical music influenced by the indigenous music of Kazakhstan. I also worked for the Brian Irvine Ensemble for about 11 years (a 15 piece modern ensemble of madness).
I plan to keep people up to date about what my next projects are and also to let people hear my orginial works. Hopefully I get loads of hits and meet lots of new friends.
I have just completed the first phase of my Kazakh influenced music and I'm now thinking about another interesting country to do some research so if anyone has any ideas then please let me know. Hope you're not sleeping yet.... See ya.. Lewis.
****Update**** I'm now working with the James Huish band as saxophonist, MD and arranger. You'll find his name in my friends list. Check it out.... Lewis.
