Pott Street came together as a group in the mid 90's as the natural progression of a shared love of Hip Hop culture and music between close friends growing up on the same street in Darwin, Pott Street.
Comprising of 4 members with 4 distinct styles, Pott Street has a sound that can be described as unique within the Australian Hip Hop community. From live instrumentation, to classic break beats and sampling, brash ryhmes and catchy hooks to amazing female vocals, Pott Street always delivers with a laid back ease typical of the Darwin lifestyle.
That same personable style has been gaining the band numerous spins and requests on local radio shows such as 'Smoothy Beats', The Danila Dilba Dilba Youth Show, Billy T from Radio Larrakia 94.5FM, Radio Adelaide with MC Frost, Maya Jupiter on Triple J's Hip Hop Show & The Edge with K-Sera on 96.1 FM in Sydney. Pott Street's live show is always raucous and features gigs at pubs and clubs around Darwin city such as The Rox & Pub Bar, to parties and Indigenous showcase concerts with musicNT & the Darwin Fringe Festival including FIGJAM and Naidoc Day.
The next step in the groups evolution is to secure partnerships that can help take our music and message to a wider audience. Multimedia production including websites, artwork, photography, and of course music, are all a part of the larger Pott Street picture.
Pott Street is a family, the people making the music are: Fliz (vocals, production), Gusto (vocals, production), 'O' Zee (vocals) and Mandy 'Noonz' Garling (vocals).
