About Me

I am of German/Italian decent. I was born in Berlin, Germany and came to Canada when I was very young. I am an only child (always wished I had a brother). My mother died some years ago. My father, daughter and son live here as well. I have two grandchildren.I spent most of my life growing up in St Catharines, Ontario. I did live for quite some years in Oakville, Ontario with my former husband.I have taken an accounting course, a drafting course (really enjoyed doing the welding), a Health Science Prep Program in College, then took a nursing program, graduating as an RN. However, upon completing nursing I knew it wasn't for me.I moved out here (BC), in 1993. Aside from the fact it rains too much, I do love it here! I work for a large Insurance company in their American division. I wish, however, I could afford to retire!Back in the day... I played a lot of sports. I was the pitcher on the school baseball team, quarterback on a football team, I was the Ontario Tennis District Champion one year (I didn't compete after that.. lol), played a lot of volleyball and swam like a fish! My husband and I had played golf but I haven't played since. I used to be very good at shooting pool, however, as it has been quite some time since I have played.. I would really suck now!Loved to paint and do charcoal/pencil sketches, mostly portraits, but again... I haven't done any art for many years now.I have 4 tattoos, contemplating if I will get more... we'll see. I LOVE the GOTH look!

My Interests

I LOVE animals, music, reading, movies, sports (esp. football), a few television programs, however, I'm not an avid TV watcher. I spend most of my time on the computer (Facebook, MySpace and games mostly). I like playing games (computer, Wii, board games, cards..). I enjoy being out in the 'great outdoors'. I really want to travel.. see the world.. starting with Italy (my passion).. one of these days!

George Clooney and Johnny Depp! LOLSeriously though, people with similar interests. Those who enjoy the simple pleasures of life - the love of nature, animals, music, food, the arts...

Music:

As you can see, I LOVE music! I'm not going to list all the artists... the list would be too long. So, just to let you know, I prefer listening to Alternative, New Age, Rock, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Soul, the Oldies, Classical and even some Opera. Guess that doesn't leave out too much... does it! Music feeds the soul!

Movies:

I like so many movies, where to start! I prefer action / drama /suspense movies best, and movies with awesome special effects. Some of the movies I like best are... Enemy of the State, Minority Report, The Rock, Seven, Snatch, Donnie Darko, Memento, Matrix's, Departed, 12 Monkeys, Platoon, Bladerunner, The Ref, Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter's, Die Hard's, Bourne's, Usual Suspects, The Bone Collector, The Big Lebowski, 12 Angry Men, A Beautiful Mind, The Birdcage, The Crow, The Deer Hunter, Mad Max's, Serpico, The Godfather's, On The Waterfront, all Johnny Depp movies (oh yeah ;)... and the list goes on...

Television:

I don't watch very much TV but when I do..I enjoy watching Criminal Minds, the CSI's, House, First 48 Hours, Mind Freak, Discovery Channel, cooking shows (esp Iron Chef), home improvement type shows, sports (esp football)...

Books:

I have read many of the classics by such authors as William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Oscar Wilde, Robert Louis Stevenson, Jules Verne, George Orwell, George Bernard Shaw, J.R.R. Tolkien, Ayn Rand... etc. As well, books by Steven King, Dean Koontz and various other authors...
