Influences: Armory is influenced and inspired by every subgenre of "TRUE" Metal- This includes Traditional, Power, Progressive, Thrash, NWOBHM, Instrumental, Death, Black and even Glam and Rock. They despise Nu-Metal (aka Un-Metal), Grindcore, Hardcore, Metalcore, and the like. Their most influencial bands include: Iron Maiden, Helloween, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Megadeth, 80's Metallica, Savatage, Judas Priest, Riot, Lost Horizon, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Theater, Angra, Avantasia, Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Crimson Glory, Iced Earth, Dio, ManOwaR, HammerFall, Heavenly, Symphony X, Pagan's Mind, Dark Moor, Luca Turilli, Virgin Steele, Vicious Rumors, Running Wild, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Toni MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore, Cacaphony, Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera, Annihilator, Racer X, Children Of Bodom, Metal Church, Bruce Dickinson, Primal Fear, Black Sabbath, Axel Rudi Pell, Europe, Accept, Overkill, Cloven Hoof, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Journey, Ratt, Van Halen, Pretty Maids, Impellitteri, Anthrax, Testament, Death, Dissection, Flotsam & Jetsam, In Flames, Kamelot, Rush, Grim Reaper, TNT, Loudness, Dionysus, Insania, Nightwish, Hibria, Fairyland, Twilightning, Blind Guardian, Nocturnal Rites, and many more. They are also largely influenced by Nintendo game music, especially: Mega Man, Castlevania, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Contra, Powerblade, Batman, Tecmo Super Bowl, Super Mario Brothers, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, LifeForce, and countless others. Classical music and epic movie soundtracks such as "The Lord of the Rings", "Star Wars", "Braveheart", "Clash of the Titans", and "The Neverending Story" help to round out Armory's musical influences.
Sounds Like: Armory can most easily be classified in the metal community as a melodic power metal band. The label is deceiving however, as their music contains fair amounts of traditional, progressive, thrash, and instrumental metal, with occasional traces of even black and death metal. Their songs consist of heavy doses of double-bass drumming, soaring vocals, galloping rhythms, dual leads, blazing solos, and atmospheric harmonies. They sound most similar to Iron Maiden, Helloween, Edguy, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, and Gamma Ray, and at times like Angra, Rhapsody, Megadeth, Savatage, Manowar, Judas Priest, Riot, Lost Horizon, Slayer, Children Of Bodom, King Diamond, Nintendo music, and bits and pieces of the hundreds of other metal bands they have grown up with; all blended together in the perfect proportions while still maintaining an original, fresh power/traditional metal sound that is virtually unheard of in this section of the world.
