About Me

Here's some useful/useless info.. I write gig reviews and interviews for the Yorkshire Evening Post, which is fab cos I get to go to gigs for free and infict my views on the public, but even better - I sometimes get to harass rock stars in person (not especially famous ones, but I'm working on it)... I have another 'proper' job which I try not to talk about... I've worked in many, many pubs around Bradford, most lengthily (is that a word?) Delius and The Coniston (I'm often juggling about three jobs at a time cos I get bored easily)... I go to gigs A LOT, if I'm not at one of those then you'll find me on the dancefloor at random clubs, dancing badly/in a drunken manner while spilling my pint on people... I have a cat called Muffin, I judge ALL people by whether she likes them or not... I used to live in New York for a brief time, worked as a waitress, seeing how long I can stand Bradford for before I emigrate back there... I tend to be oot and aboot round Leeds & Manchester (NOT Bradford)... My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Long lost friends... People who are into the same stuff as me... Bands who aren't shit... I DON'T want to meet... Foreign blokes who want an English girlfriend for visa purposes... People who clearly have no life outside of the internet... Slutty birds from the USA who are obviously straight but insist on coming onto me for some reason (does anyone else get that?)

Movies:

Fight Club, American Psycho, Identity, Momento - I love films where I don't actually see what's coming a mile off. I also love complete stupidity, like the American Pie's and Wayne's World, complete weirdness like David Lynch films, & complete blood-and-gut fests of any description.

Television:

I watch MTV2 until my eyes and ears bleed. Although sometimes I watch Scrubs, Friends (gasp, a bird watching Friends, surely not) or The Simpsons, for a change. I'm Alan Partridge, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace & Peep Show are all utter genius, and I watch Spaced & Black Books DVDs on an almost daily basis.

Books:

I spend vast amounts of time ploughing through the music rags, for research purposes of course. I have some books that look good - I might read 'em one day when I stop going to the pub.

Heroes:

Sir David Grohl - no explanation needed. Henry Rollins - he's nails. Andrew WK - I worship him as my Jesus. Matt Bellamy - he's the best at doing music (and don't even try and argue that one with me)
