London based band The Goondocks formed in 2002.
Martin Newnham and Andy Parkin have known each other since growing up on the Isle Of Wight. Martin & Andy both moved up to London to study music at different universities. When Martin was offered a gig and needed a band he asked Andy, Dave Marks & Vesa Haapanen if they wanted to get together to play a one off gig. The one off gig turned into The Goondocks.
The band spent their first year together writing material and gigging on the London circuit at venues such as Sound, Hope & Anchor, West One Four, Hammersmith Palais, The Borderline & The Garage. In 2003 they released their debut CD "Everything" - a project that was self funded and self promoted by the band.
The Goondocks spent the latter half of 2005 and early 2006 refining their sound and working on their new EP "Bittersweet". The new songs - "Annabelle", "As They Fade" & "Bittersweet" show a harder, rawer edge to the band.
