ABOUT ME:

Hey, I'm Medley (that's my real name, not some handle I came up with); it's nice to meet you. Thank you for taking the time out of you busy schedule of looking trough people's funny pictures and rambling blogs to check me out. I'm a Graphic Designer, an artist, a promoter and a Dj. I am a very hard working entrepreneur, always hustling. So far it's been going pretty well for myself, I haven't had a "real job" in over two years. I'm not ball'n out of control just yet, but hopefully one day. I'm a strict vegetarian, I always have been and I always will be. Meat sucks, it's pretty gross I think.

I'm focusing mostly on Deejaying currently. I'm into spinning electro, hip hop, Baltimore club, rhythm & blues, soul, funk, house, retro, new wave, disco, reggae, trip hop, lo-fi, jazz, rock'n'roll, breaks and more. I play for the crowd, not for myself. Meaning I don't stand behind the decks "musically masturbating" selecting what I think is good and trying to educate the masses into liking what I'm into (okay, yeah, I do that a little bit but in a sly way). Put me in front of any crowd, young or old, mainstream or underground, urban or suburban, rich or poor, straight or gay, hip or nerdy and I'll please them. I especially have a knack for making the girls go wild.

I make my own remixes/mashups/blends/extended cuts of mainstream "pop culture" music and put an underground twist on it. I'm known for my smooth, long transitions between tracks with lots of layering, even when I'm spinning hip-hop. Most hip-hop deejays think hip-hop mixing is about cutting to the next track quickly, a little "chicka-chicka-chicka" and then dropping in the next track on the downbeat. Quick and painless mixing. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I do things differently, each transition between songs creates a live remix, much like a house Dj. Partially because I'm not a turntablist, (scratching and juggling is not my forte) and partially because of my vast musical influences.

I'd like to meet you. The one who is reading this right now. I feel like we have a lot of things in common. Are you breathing? Oh my gosh, so am I! Wow, I can't believe we're doing the same thing right now. Do you eat food? Really??? I do too!!! What about drinking fluids? Yeah? You're kidding me right? Holly crap. We're like kindred spirits! Soul Mates! Where have you been all my life? This is crazy...okay, you gotta send me a msg...You just have too. You don't meet someone with so much in common everyday, we share so much. It's really rare. We've got something really special here. I can feel it.

MY INTERESTS:

I'm a man who appreciates the finer things in life. I like quilted paper towel that separates via perforations into 3 smaller pieces, air fresheners that plug into wall outlets, deodorant that leaves no white residue aka clear deodorant, electric spinning tooth brushes and mint flavoured dental floss, two ply toilet paper with pictures of kittens or fuzzy bears on the packaging, toilets that have blue water, ketchup in a glass bottle, cloth napkins, pens with rubber grips, meals that come with a wet nap at the end of it, clumping dust free kitty litter, escalators instead of stairs or better yet elevators, phones without cords, seedless grapes, velcro shoes, swiffer sweepers instead of brooms, cereal with fresh fruit in it, tubes with no mess applicators, lint removers, backscratchers and roll on white out.
