The Bootcher boys have taken the art of playing cover songs to a whole new level by butchering them like no one else.
Some of the songs we Bootcher:
YMCA, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Afternoon Delight, Hit Me Baby (one more time), Margaritaville, Stayin Alive, You're The One That I Want, and so much more!
Disco favorites sung as ballads, adding kazoo to Freebird, and playing a few classics including Yellow Submarine that no one else performs are what makes Bootcher a must-see band that is surprising and entertaining.
Bootcher pays tribute to Budweiser - The king of Beers.
About our vast talents: Wayne learned three chords on the guitar from a neighbour and then spent 17 years at Juliard studying Kazoo. "The course was actually a lunch-time workshop hosted by some guy we knew as Buzzy in the Juliard cafeteria. I never took any actual classes per-se. I liked the workshop so much I just took it over and over again." He then toured the far east...er Eastern Shore of MD as part of the area's leading Haircut 100 tribute band. "We were by far the BEST Hairut 100 tribute band touring Cambridge and Salisbury that particular summer. Our version of Love Plus One totally kicked ass."
Chuck learned to play from some of the old Kazoo masters growing up on the mean streets of Catonsville. Chuck first picked up a guitar at age four when he picked up his older brother's guitar because it was blocking his Lincoln Logs(R) container. His brother then proceeded to beat him up for "touching his stuff" and Chuck was too scared to touch, or even look at a guitar for many years after that experience."To this day, guitars scare me a little bit." Chuck eventually picked up the guitar again in college to form a few bands that spear-headed (and ultimately dominated) the Baltimore Mod scene in the late 1980s. "The Mod scene in Baltimore was dominated by bands like The Deltas, The Stand, & The Dotted Eyes all of which I was a member, and that was pretty much the entire 'scene'".
Our newest member Mike, has made his fortune teaching "Auto Drumming" for over 10 years both in classrooms as wel as private in-car lessons. For the uneducated, Auto Drumming is the art of tapping the steering wheel (and other car parts) CORRECTLY to the rhythm of the music being played through the vehicle sound system. This class is a 'must do' for white males.
About our name:We have been told that we butcher songs. And the truth is, we do! So why not butcher our name? Bootcher - (don't forget the umlaut which I haven't figured out how to add here in html) is the butchering of the word "butcher" and we have now adopted it as our last names.
