Traveling anywhere new. I want to go everywhere eventually. Except perhaps parts of the middle east. Saudi Arabia, for example - I'd end up on chop-chop square before noon of the second day. Stoned. And not in a good way. Best to stay away.
I get involved in politics (Democratic) when I can stand it. Since Bush has been in office I find it's better for my blood pressure not to think about it as often as I used to. I think I reached a point a few years back where I'm just disgusted and perhaps the optimism and passion for politics will return one day.
Also, I LOVE women's basketball and GO PHOENIX MERCURY!
Others with similar interests, new friends.
My tastes are varied, I am a fan of almost all types of music, though I have to admit that I don't "get" most rap, and as a rule I'm not a fan of country music. I love alternative and rock the most.
Contact, Star Wars, Bob Roberts, Dr. Strangelove, The Shawshank Redemption, 28 Days Later, many more. I've just seen these again recently so they're on my mind.
House, The Office (UK and US versions, though the UK version is first in my heart), Extras, The Simpsons, Scrubs, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Arrested Development, Reno 911, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Boston Legal, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report.
Favorite authors include Carl Sagan & Ann Druyan, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, William Gibson, Neil Stephensen, Christopher Moore, John Irving.
I'll need to think about this one a bit. Martin Luther King, obviously. Rosa Parks - definitely. I don't care *what* Cedric The Entertainer said in that Barber Shop movie, I would not have had the courage to say "no" on that bus, and I don't think that most people would. Susan B. Anthony was an incredible woman as well, and I know that were it not for her, my experience of life would be quite different. And I would quite like to be like Ann Richards was (RIP, Ann). Elanor Roosevelt.
