My mom died of Lymphoma almost 9 years to the day I'll be running. I shaved my head to support and bring her laughter when she lost her hair to chemo. She was my best friend.

I'm doing this for HER.
I'm doing this for my KITTY, who also died of Lymphoma just a year before my mom did.
I'm doing this for my friend, BRENDA, who has battled Lymphoma and is now in remission.
I'm doing this for YOU, because cancer affects us all.
And finally, I'm doing this for ME. Because I need to. Because it's time I go back to my roots and start caring for causes again.

Mom started sending me out to knock on doors in our neighborhood when I was 5 years old to raise money for cancer research. Her dad had died of cancer, so she knew how important it was to raise awareness. She taught me to care about it long before it affected me so personally by seeing her die so young, as well.
I can't even begin to describe how deeply I loved my mom. How tied I was to her. How much a part of my foundation she was. When she died, I died too. And it's taken until now, until this very year, for me to fully come back to life.
So it's time. Time for me to run. Time for me to fight for something once again.

It's taken alot of time to build the websites, to scan in my art and write what I need to about this process, about this cause. And marathon training is super hard work. Please support me and this! I need all the love and encouragement I can get.
