I am going into my 3rd year of college for Child and Youth Work. It's pretty intense and emotionally draining but I love how it has made me gain more confidence in myself and I've acknowledged that I am truly an amazing person for being able to work with these children and youth because honestly not everyone could. It has given me many unforgettable memories in which I have shared with many kids of all ages and paths in life. I now know you are never too old to be reminded about what it's like to be a kid. They remind me everyday how tough it is to be young and have no one understand where they are coming from. I guess this is why I want to be involved in their lives because I also use to struggle with not having anyone understand or get what I'm all about when all I ever really wanted was someone to JUST listen to me and accept me for who I am on the inside and outside and just say to me "it's okay I understand". I want to be a positive influence in the many lives of the people and children I come in contact with and for me to be able to do that I must let go of my past and move forward down the right path.
I recommend that you watch the video I have posted on here about children and what we all do to influence the lives they live. Children are filled with innocence and that should not be taken away from them. We reflect what we want children to become as adult. Make the right choices in your life and always remember no one is perfect, we all make mistakes but we need to acknowledge these mistakes to better ourselves and others. Lead the children down the right paths so they do not destroy themselves or the world around them. CHILDREN SEE!
