solo guitar music from latin america and spain

About Me

Having studied classical guitar both at Sonoma State University with Tom Leisek and at the Staatliche Hochscule fur Musik in Trossingen, Germany with Andreas Higi, I feel that I have refined my technique to a point where I can finally give some of the great guitar composers justice on a very neglected instrument. Most of the music I play comes from the early part of the 20th century from South America and Spain. The "post-romantic" period, as it is often called, produced some of the most beautiful and melodic music for the classical guitar. Composers such as Barrios, Lauro, Villa-lobos, and Tarrega developed a repitoire of music that would elevate the guitar to the level of the more prestigious violin and piano. I also play music from the Baroque and Classical era as well. These days it is hard to find places where this music can be heard live and I am determined to change that. Feel free to contact me here or at [email protected]!
