A flamenco guitar that produces the vibrations of the Mediterranean sounds, in the search for the magical Sicilian "duende". This is the music of Saro, pleasant melodies joined together as in the best Italian tradition, but also with a fusion of Spanish flamenco and Latin rhythms having the resonance of popular Sicilian music. In the background, you can hear the sounds of Greek, Arabic and Indian echoes. It’s a style that brings him closer to the Universe of New Flamenco and World Music. Saro’s love for music began when he was six years old; he was given an acoustic guitar as a gift.
He has a real passion, practiced and perfected his guitar technique until starting to study Flamenco. At the same time, when he was around 8 years old, he began to compose his first short musical pieces, slowly sharpening his composition skills. He says "For me to combine melodies together is like writing on a daily journal all of my moods. I record it, and after listening to them I begin to work on the ones that have greatly inspired me. That is why I feel more like a composer than as a guitarist." For him the guitar is an instrument "to create sonorous landscapes and to transmit emotions and feelings".
Over the years, he has composed many soundtracks for documentaries and some of his pieces were used as background music on air for satellite programs on American TV stations. He goes on live tours with Robasicula, a popular Sicilian music group, performing with the greek tzouras, the mandolin and the "battente" guitar, which are two typical instruments of Mediterranean area. In 2007, two of his pieces of which Bongo Beach produced together with the English duo Coyote, were selected for the compilation of Laissez Faire Lounge 2, produced by ZYX Music. In 2006, he has produced Fanusa, an EP as a soloist with instrumental pieces of the flamenco guitar, distributed in CD and on a digital format over the web.
