NEW Music Video for "It Makes the Winter Warm"
A BRIEF SUMMARY OF WHERE WE COME FROM AND WHAT WE STAND FOR:
It is quite common now to toss a net into myspace and pull out a hundred bands that aren’t your cup of tea. But it is also easy to find something you may have been looking for for a long time. Thanks to myspace there is so much room for ALL of these genres to emerge. One of our goals is to appeal to as many people as we can and write diversified music to please each listener. (at least once!)
We all grew up delving into as many types of music as we could get our hands on. Yes, even country and rap. Finding ourselves helplessly addicted to the arts it was only a matter of time before it started to flow outward. Surprisingly enough, all but one member of this band was in the group that first started playing together in early high school. Needless to say it would take a few more years of mastering our instruments and playing with many other people to develop our craft. Upon finding Randy we felt our hearts stop and our knees hit the ground. We knew that Vanity was now complete. He’s cute too!
“Vanity†is the death of music. We have grown to notice that the world has a way of bastardizing everything that is pure and good. Now that we can play some “good ol’ guitar†we have a chance at letting people know that not every band out there has followed suit in the cliché. It is up to our generation to take it back from those who have destroyed our child in the womb. The industry has prevented us from giving birth to real art, or at least stopped it from being accessible to the ear. That is until myspace. My friends it is time… NO, it is well over due that we make a stand for the anti-capitalist music industry, make lyrical value an importance once again, and start bringing back live music, fellowship, and love for the human spirit! “These burdened sky’s will not lay us to rest†and neither shall it you.
Please allow yourself to delve into our music and fellowship as well. We have made it for ourselves and anyone who will listen. We love our music and hope you will as well. Love is our passion, love is our pride, love is our Vanity.

"From some very dear friends of ours." What is Vanity? As with anyone who is thinking about checking out a new band for the first time, that’s what you’re probably asking yourself. Vanity is a group that originally began playing together in 2001, but you didn’t come here looking for a history lesson on people you don’t know. What matters is that while styles and members have changed the one thing that has never stopped evolving is their music. While working together or completely separated at some points I have watched each of them develop. All have left their mark on the final product. The result is a wonderfully varied mix, ranging from metal, to post hardcore, to ambient experimental. Comprised of Aaron Gullet, Randy Conner, Jarod Jarrell, John Jenks, and Jacob Krieger, Vanity retains its love of expression, and powerful evocative music, not to mention its realistically hopeful view on life. But be not dismayed, when the time comes there will be plenty to mosh about. In short, it’s power, emotion, and well written music for music’s sake.
