The Grey Matter

The Grey Matter is a metal band from the south suburbs of Chicago. The band was founded in the beginning of 2006 by the creative minds of two college roommates, Erik Hudson (who is also a member of the brutal death metal band Bound and Gagged), and Bill Gomolka, a close friend and experienced guitar player. Bill and Erik's style clicked instantly and they began feverishly writing throughout the rest of the spring and summer.
In June 2006 vocalist Mike Crothers (Bound and Gagged, Reprobation) expressed interest in this new project. Erik, Bill, and Mike began jamming together and decided that Mike's vocals were a perfect fit and he would join the band full time.
The next piece of the puzzle came when Mike asked longtime friend and ex-bandmate Steve Stepien (My Vengence, Falling Further) to join the ranks. Steve's hard hitting style and blasting double bass was a perfect fit for The Grey Matter.

The final addition came when The Grey Matter was contacted by Dave Swanson, a well known and talented musician. Dave had made a name for himself as drummer of successful bands like Enforsaken and Veneficum (previously played Bass/vocals in Veneficum before switching to drums). However, he had aspirations of getting out from behind the drums and showing his skills on the bass once again.
The Grey Matter have started to create a following and have dedicated themselves to reaching there goals by any means necessary. Through hard work and determination, the level of sucess that is expected WILL BE MET.
