About Me

Rebecca is a 22 year old singer/ songwriter/ producer from Camden, London, UK. Classically trained at a top music school on the harp and flute, Rebecca decided to 'move over to the other side' of music and persue a pop career. Her first ever song "Missing You" was written just under a year ago and since then she has developed a neo-soul/ pop/ RnB influenced sound. Sat on the wooden floor in the front room of her apartment, teamed with Logic Express, a novation midi controller, USB mic and a pair of headphones, Rebecca sits until late at night quietly singing into a microphone so as not to wake her surrounding neighbours. Writing beats which range from dark hip-hop to reggae to neo-soul, Rebecca is highly influenced by legendry artists such as Jill Scott, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu, Aretha Franklin and producers such as Future Cut, Timbaland (her all time fave) and The Neptunes. Her experience of love and relationships highly influence her lyrics. Rebecca has a huge interest in Vocal Production, especially big harmonies and sweeping backing vocals. After more development and practice, she eventually aims to be a successful (and hopefully rather wealthy) songwriter.Over the past year, Rebecca has recorded sessions on vocals, piano, harp and flute for artists such as Tom Jones, Lemar, Kate Nash, Livvi Franc, Nick Harrison, Friendly Fires and Conner Reeves and on a dub reggae track, written by Lily Allen's sound engineer. All tracks have been written & recorded in Rebecca's front room, using Garageband and a USB mic.Contact me through myspace or to send me stuff please email me at: [email protected] Slice The Pie comments:Rating: 10/10 Review: Very classy and soulful. The artist here will lull the listener into a state of relaxation every time! This is one of the best things I've heard since Erykah Badu and Jill Scott released albums! I watchlist and give this track a TEN!!Rating: 10/10 Review: i love this song nice vocalsRating: 9/10 Review: This is pretty good, the elevator music i especially like. these girls could be really popular, if they get their demos to the right people they could go far. Im not a fan of this genre, but fair play, they do it really well.Rating: 9/10 Review: The singer's light soft voice is perfect for this melodic piano artwork. The song is memorable as well. The vocal peaked a couple of times, but the singer and song are so good, that they pull it off. This is a classic and a very very good investment.Rating: 9/10 Review: Not my type of music, but i still freekin dig it!!! the vocals are not only talented, but very attractive sounding. it kept me listening!!! i could see myself sitting in a blues jazz bar listening to this. captured emotion perfectly!!!Rating: 9/10 Review: Your Voice Is Amazing. I Like Your Track And Would Love To Listem To More. I Love Your Voice.Rating: 8/10 Review: Awesome voice, someone sign this girl because I would buy that lovely voice. Talented I hearRating: 8/10 Review: this seems like a good r&b track (if thats the correct genre). a lot of these songs seem to sound similar and lack originaltiy but thats not the case with this. the vocals are very nice, as are the harmonies. it sounds very well recorded and produced, very professional. although im not really into this type of music this song seems to stand out from others like it, well doneRating: 8/10 Review: An excellent soprano voice with class and dignity. Sweet piano with a good solid mix and melody and harmony. This is the best track that I have reviewed this far. Bravo!Rating: 8/10 Review: This tracks a brilliant mellow track filled with soul into to it the words are very powerful and i enjoyed listening to this song, the female singer has a nice vocal voice, its very soft and touching. She hit the high notes beautifullyRating: 8/10 Review: really enjoyed this! so few artists on slice the pie of this genre that i actually liked - keep it up!
