SCOTLAND'S NUMBER ONE!!!
Craig Gordon is currently the first choice goalkeeper for both the Scottish National Team and Sunderland Football Club in the English Premiership.
Born on December 31st 1982, 13st 1lb Craig stands at 1.93m and is one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Heart of Midlothian FC, his club of choice as a boy. A lifelong Hearts supporter, born in Edinburgh, Craig is a graduate of Hearts' youth development programme, and made his debut for the club against Livingston on October 6th 2002.
Craig made his Scotland debut on May 30th 2004 in a 4 - 1 defeat of Trinidad and Tobago. He was duely awarded Scottish Football Writer's Association Player of the Year 2005/06.
Craig started playing with the Heart of Midlothian youth team at the age of 12, from which he was signed by the senior team in October 1999. Since then, other than a brief loan period with Cowdenbeath in 2001, he played only with the Tynecastle club until August 2007 when Sunderland sealed the Hearts captain's move to the English Premiership for £9m. This makes him the most expensive goalkeeper in British transfer history.
