Thanks for supporting us and loving us as much as we love you. Keep listening for other projects, and make sure you go and see The John Steel Singers, Yves Klein Blue, Cloud Control, Carry Nation and Laura K play soon. Indie pop rulez the skool.

Mel and Pat will be playing again as of May. Our name will be 'Little Scout.'

The cool little lounge room demo's that are currently up were recorded by the lovely Mr Cameron Smith.

Also - Thanks a bunch to Jessica K Photography for taking our new promo shots and to Mel's former flattie Alex Grigg for making their skipping rope poster. He's a bit of a loser and is on Deviant Art - check him out, yo!
..br/ ABOUT US :)
Here is a little bio for you to read and think of rainbows.

Rooftop Nightwatch is a quintet of friends from Brisbane. Their creative influences and cleverness combine to make music which is like donkeys to dishes. They mix everything from indie-rock to folk-pop to alt-country, with lots of light and shade in chiaroscuro-esque tradition. Their songs drift from one style to another with dreamy boy/girl vocals. Rooftop Nightwatch want their songs to be like pastel-coloured rocket-ships floating splendidly in the universe.

The band started out in 2006 with duo Melissa Tickle and Patrick Elliott, using the band as an outlet, excuse if you will, which allowed them to play their own songs. In August 2007 the full band was formed with total babes Jane Austen, Pat McDermott and David Hannah. The same month they performed together for the first time and were very surprised at the lovely response they received. Since then the Rooftop Nightwatch kids have played Brisbane venues which include; The Zoo, Rics, Rosie’s and The Troubadour. Pat and Jane's senile old-lady neighbour has been quoted as saying "What is that TERRible noise?!" while the band was practicing in their apartment block. Werd.

Their interests include drinking cola, harassing elderly neighbours who have lost their marbles, inventing party dances, tattooing band names on their bottoms, donkeys named Geoffrey, the colour yellow, Taco Tuesday, bathtub parties with confetti, indecent behaviour, chasing scrub turkeys, Ric's, festivals, trashy house parties and Patrick Elliott’s controversial dancing skills.

Mags & Reviews

www.ravemagazine.com.au
(for printing our picture and giving us cheek! xo)
"Rooftop Nightwatchers want you to ‘envisage five best friends sitting in a bath tub of confetti playing miniature keyboards and singing lullabies’ – scared yet? [be nice – Ed] There’s no need for fear though – it’s just the side project of members and ex-members of Little Lovers, John Steel Singers, Roman History and Mt Augustus who are constantly swapping instruments and fusing boy-girl vocals..."

www.timeoff.com.au
(for calling us a quintet!)
"...let indie pop quintet Rooftop Nightwatch settle your escalating anxiety."

www.before-hollywood.blogspot.com.au
(for reviewing our very first show eva!)
"I was blown away by how tight the band was for their first show."
And more recently...
"Rooftop Nightwatch have been attracting a lot of attention (including from us), and there is no doubt they keep on rising in 2008. As this article is being typed the band is recording its debut EP with producer Miro Mackie. With the wealth of great songs the band already has in its repertoire you can expect the EP to be a keeper."
