Crystal Extasy

Founded in Finland in 1997, Crystal Extasy underwent some changes in 2000, when Presley (aka Punk Elvis) joined the band as their new bass player, and Joska replaced their former guitarist. After trying out several drummers, the band's line-up was finally complete when Salaud joined in early 2002, along with a female back-up singer Maya, who had joined in time for Crystal Extasy's killer show at the Ruisrock festival club in the summer of 2001.
Crystal Extasy has opened for several big Finnish and foreign acts, such as The Hellacopters, Egotrippi, Michael Monroe, The 69 Eyes and Problems, to name but a few. Crystal Extasy's own shows have also been known to attract a crowd, and along the years they have built a considerable and very loyal fan base.
In April 2003 the band decided to have a break, but before that they played the sold out farewell gig in Turku at the same place where the band had played their very first gig back in 1997. After that Mickey, Joska and Maya started the band called "Crystal Syndicate" and later on also Salaud joined in. Presley plays nowadays in the band called "Vanity Ink".
During the autumn of 2006 there were many rumors around Crystal Extasy. Well, now it is time to end the speculation about the band and its future: CRYSTAL EXTASY IS actually BACK again on your planet, ready and prepared to rock your asses off! The break lasted for three years until the silence was broken in December 2006 when Crystal Extasy played a gig at a private party. The band was warmly welcomed by the audience who just love it!
The band’s new line-up is as follows: Mickey Crane - vocals & lead guitar, Salaud - bass, Iwor - guitar, backing vocals & harmonica, Tommy - drums and Maya - backing vocals.
Hey, check out the forthcoming gigs here on myspace! In addition to gigs something grrreat is going to happen soon: the band’s compilation album will be released in early 2007 by a record label from Argentina. The album will include 16 Crystal Extasy tracks and a new demo song originally recorded back in 2003 but re-recorded in 2006. So, it is definitely worth staying tuned!
