In 1997 four young lads formed a glam rock band called Crystal Extasy. The first record, 5-track CD, "Part Of This Sacred Dream" was released in 1998. The band was active till 1999, after that they stayed still for about a year. Crystal Extasy was re-started in the beginning of 2000. The band was cool and it reached also a kind of cult status. Crystal Extasy performed with many famous bands e.g. Apulanta, The Hellacopters, The 69 Eyes, Egotrippi, Michael Monroe, Tehosekoitin etc. The band was noticed by music lovers and the press also outside the borders of Finland e.g. in Europe and in Japan.
In 2001 Mickey Crane, the founder member of band, joined Michael Monroe band and Crystal Extasy was kept in the background. However, Crystal Extasy released still another record. "Back On Your Planet" was broadly noticed and it received good reviews. Mickey became busier than ever because he continued to co-work with Michael. After awhile Andy McCoy joined in and Mike and Andy started to work with Hanoi Revisited -project, as they yet didn't want to use the name Hanoi Rocks. Mickey played in Hanoi Revisited only about a year before he left the band as he fell out with the singer.
In April of 2003 Crystal Extasy played a sold-out farewell gig. It was time to change direction. In December of the same year Mickey, Maya and Joska formed The Mickey Crane Syndicate. The style stayed impressive although the music somewhat changed. For the following 18 months the band played gigs and refined their music. In 2005 the band was renamed, but the members and the music remained the same. The new name presents better the band's dynamic rock show: Crystal Syndicate was born.
