LONGKILLAH- NO CHAIN, NO EYE-LINER

Finnish three-piece riff-rock-group, Longkillah was born one of the spring evenings in 2001 in Haapavesi polytechnic highschool in the cold Mid-Finland. Longkillah`s fouder-members, Mikko Nissinen (gtr and vocs) from Sotkamo and Kalevi "Kalu" Pynssi (drums) from Veteli had been working with some monstrous rock riffs and tunes for a while with spit-in-the-face-attitude playing uncompromised old-school hard rock with blink of nasty humour in corner of their eye. Guys picked up name for their band from their polytechnic-school principle-teacher, Eero Lonkila, quite the same way as one un-named southern rock veteran band had done some two decades earlier in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A. Though Mr. Lonkila was a good and decent man doing his job well without being problematic to his students compared to Mr. Leonard Skinner had been to his own.
Years went by and catchy unmerciful tunes came out of both guy`s instruments for they wrote tight songs and rehearsed those days intensively in Haapavesi, Oulu, and Sotkamo Finland. Several bassists came in and out of the band not quite fitting into band`s ideology and chemistry. On spring 2004 Janne Kortesoja, an old bassist friend and a side-project band-mate to Nissinen came to join `Killah as a bass-player. Right up they went to studio to record their debute 4-song EP, "The First War". The intensive EP got good reviews in papers and brought guys contacts to people who`ve been working with professional Finnish rock bands. Longkillah dates animal raged-three-piece-rock back to it`s roots such as bands like Hurriganes and Peer Gunt had done before. In 2005 Longkillah did a bunch of brilliant gigs and filmed their first videos of songs "Sittin`on your Face" and "Big Bad Boner".
However, in the end of year 2005 Nissinen got hired to work at Kirkkonummi- a town in the Helsinki-area and was therefor forced to move to southern Finland. Kortesoja had already been living there as he studied in Helsinki. Pynssi wasn`t willing to move to south, and therefor he ended up quiting the band. This was the end of the first chapter in Longkillah`s story. Thru winter and spring 2005-2006 Nissinen worked with new tasty `Killah songs with Kortesoja by his side, which you can listen on these official Longkillah My Space-sites. On Spring Longkillah got booked to write, represent and perform soundtrack Longkillah`s music in 40 full-length Pilke-theater shows of "Hirttamattomien Lurjusten Yrttitarha" (The Garden of the Unhanged Creeps) based on the novel by Arto Paasilinna, in Kaarina, Finland on summer 2006. They had also got a Salo-based drummer, Arttu Aalto to help with Longkillah`s project. Longkillah`s Summer 2006 ended up to be full of really hard work and emphasis put on it, which ended up to situation where Kortesoja found demanded emphasis for the band too tough for himself and his personal life, and wanted to concentrate on his civil-life.
The band seems to be on a long pause at the moment.
BUT WATCH OUT! `KILLAH`S GONNA GET ALL OF YOU!!
