These two young Divas blend the sounds of sensual R&B and the dirtiest hip-hop the streets contain. The world has yet to greet a duo this true to the game. This group isn't just two attractive girls marketed together to sell records. These two bombshells are also friends who believe, support and depend on each other. It just so happens, that like Tone and Poc aka the 'Trackmasters', the V v S vixens also have birthdays that are only one day apart from each other. The name V v S was chosen for many reason: "We had to find a name that could best describe all our qualities. What better than a type of Diamond grade to describe us. We are 'diamonds in the rough'. We are rare, beautiful and the hardest substance known to man in its most concentrated form. Sought after by the rich and poor. Associated with royalty and we are queens of our domain." FIRST UP we have Nikki Diamonds, a do or die Bedstuy Brooklyn Beauty. She is a songbird like no other. Nikki was raised in BK by her mother. She is talented in the arts with the ability to sing like a songbird, play piano and write multi-platinum potential songs. Nikki has a spirit that people are drawn to and admire. "This is destined. I have always known music is what I needed to do. It is a part of my purpose. My trials and tribulations are reflected through my sound and lyrics." V v S is a grade of diamond so close to perfect it is virtually flawless. Any imperfections can't be seen with the naked eye. Only haters examine that closely. But who wants to be perfect? There is no room to grow. VvS as a group is as close to perfect as any entity could be. "Diamonds really are a girls best friend but we can't be contained in a Jacobs frame. We are ready to let the world know us! Especially now that our grade is right." Shug and Nikki are the right cut, the right carat and the quality. NEXT UP we have Shug Avery, Harlems brick house framed dame who came to change the game. Shug was raised in Spanish Harlem. This Black Rican also talented in the arts is a graduate of LaGuardia School of the Performing Arts. Shug Avery (the name inspired from her favorite movie "The Color Purple"), has been rhyming for 7 years and writing R&B and alternative songs. "I have been in situations where people said they could make things happen, but even with all my efforts it was to no avail. When I linked up with Nikki we felt like we could do this ourselves. We were talented enough, business minded, and had no more time to waste. Destiny seemed to align and our paths crossed. We are so similiar that its scary. I had been in groups before but nothing compares to the chemistry and realness of VvS. Nikki and I are driven by some of the same passions, inspirations, and by the most important people in our lives. Shug Avery's style embodies so much more than just the streets and brazen lyrics: it hits hard on conscious levels, feminism, and just her story and her journey with all the cockiness you can stomach! "When deals were on the table, the record labels were not interested in letting me be me. They wanted to package me up like some black Barbie and have me exploit myself. However, now that I have had time to develop myself, cultivate my craft and the direction I'd like to see my career go in, I know VvS is an UNSTOPPABLE force of nature. We both went through an intense black period where we had lost the elements that make us the strong women we are today. Sort of like COAL before a diamond is mined.
