About Me

A Troop of Echoes was born in early 2005 from an indignant volcano.Influenced by the likes of Sonic Youth, Coltrane, Battles, and Lightning Bolt, the band brings a new and sometimes challenging brand of music to the Providence scene. They have played with artists like Wizzardz, Cowgirl, Mahi Mahi, and Sick Electric. It's where dance-rock meets acid jazz in Noisytown and tries to resolve their differences. Proving surprising accessibility for the label "experimental", they released their first EP, "Always First Steps", in 2005 and are working on their first full-length. They can be found performing around New England at venues like New York's Knitting Factory and Providence's AS220 or at the more DIY spaces that characterize the Providence underground.
