BEATZ FOR THE STREETZ!

About Me

Radioactiv or Hi-Def was born in Philadelphia and got his B.A. at Virginia State University. He played basketball and had aspirations of making the pro's. He was introduced to music by his parents who had tons of albums from the 70's that he would listen to. His mother use to take him to church on Sunday and usually stayed all day. He was fascinated by the chior and band, so he learned and listened every week. If he wasn't running ball or listening to music he was break dancing with his friends. They formed a group called "The Dynasty Boys" and performed at neighborhood bars and community centers. R.A. purchased his first rap record when he was about 12 years old. It was "These Are The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow. He remembers playing that record over and over memorizing every verse. He used to scratch on his parents old record player and he had to put an extra record underneth so that the record would spin back better. R.A. later linked up with a rap group called "Three The Hard Way" and they recorded several songs and performed around the Tri-State area. After college he began working in studio's and learned about the production side of the music business. R.A. starting making beats and writing songs for local artist's and began making a name for himself as a producer. He was introduced to Kenny Gamble by his son who encouraged him to continue working hard and never give up. He started out working with his friend's "Jaguar" and "Kurrupt" then was given an opportunity to do remixes for other signed artist's. Later he was intoduced to an A&R from Magic Johnson Music who liked his work. They worked together on several projects and later R.A. assisted him with promotions on the east coast.
