About Me

I'm kind of the at-home-dad in my family. It was been a challenging and rewarding journey that has gone by very quickly. I seem to enjoy music as much now as I did when I was a teenager. I also enjoy perusing old books and sell some as a hobby. I love nearby Chestertown: Andy's, Sam's and Natural Foods. Lately, I've been trying to rediscover some creativity I used to possess!

My Interests

Books, Health, Coffee, Weather, History, Cats, Any Sort of Useless Pop Culture Info, Nostalgia, Peanut Butter and Garlic.

I'd like to meet:

Friends, old acquaintances, people I admire, anyone with common interests.

Music:

"Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence" ~ Robert Fripp. I seem to like everything from Sammy Davis Jr.'s "The Candy Man" to RUSH's "Working Man."

Movies:

I don't seem to have much time for movies these days. I would like to see Ulee's Gold again sometime. In the past I enjoyed The Professional, Night of the Living Dead, Cuckoo's Nest, Blue Velvet and The Valley of Gwangi.

Television:

Kind of a small cheap one from K Mart.

Books:

Cold Mountain, The Cider House Rules, The Summer of '42, Fatal Vision, A Patchwork Planet, Stormy Weather . . . did I mention The Summer of '42? If anyone has an old copy of the Bob Greene book Billion Dollar Baby, I'll buy it.

Heroes:

Bruce Lee, Robert E. Lee, Geddy Lee, Stan Lee and Harper Lee

The Rooster

I always thought the Alice In Chains song The Rooster summed up the horror and hopelessness of the Vietnam War, that period of history that had some subliminal impact on me in my early, early years.&n...

The Cars - Complete Greatest Hits

I was thinking of The Cars recently - I wrote this review a couple years ago. THE CARS were an amazing band, whose music became the soundtrack for large memorable passages of my life. JUST WHAT I NEED...
