“Yero Memphis” (Biography)When it comes to hip-hop one can become extremely fatigue if you’re part of the filtering process. Listening to cd after cd with nothing refreshing to stroke your ears eventually dulls the procedure. The endless drug stories and gun fights seem to become less and less creative. Not to mention the ghetto tales have become extremely redundant. What is hip-hop? Who holds the crown if it hasn’t truly been defined? What defines the south in a time of musical crisis? Many artists it the studio, press a cd and run to the radio station and unintentionally hop directly over the streets. Now, they’re branded the greatest! Where are the tru Club Bangers? Where are the songs that edify the ears while in essence knock sheetrock from the wall. I’ll tell you where they are- they’re underground! One artist guaranteed to curtail the present flow is a native of Memphis, TN. He’s got the street cred of a tru hip-hop guru! However, this dude aint afraid of the mic! He sees Memphis as his Egypt, and he’s a lost Israelite. With tracks produced by Drumm Squad, Enigma of Rap-A-Lot Records and himself he won’t be lost long! A true artist in the making, one of great heart and desire. I present to you “Yero Memphis” (the ghetto guru). Yero, an artist of great stamina yet he’s never been bolstered by a broadcast network. Where does this drive come from? It comes from that gut feeling that tells you next year’s your year! After 5 to 6 years recording, doing local shows and pushing cds to the streets Yero is as polished as he’ll ever be. The track “Gimme Respect” reflects life in the inner city over an 808 that pounds the chopped and screwed chorus. With lyrics such as “the place of residence aint even fit for livin/but we chillin, grillin hot dogs cuz they cheaper than smokes/and we broke but best believe we choke the best of the dope.” Yero Memphis makes you bob your head to the new tune of the streets. He has a reference list that includes movie director Craig Brewer, radio DJ Freddy Hydro, Lil Larry, Drumma Boy of Drumm Squad and many more. The music this artist delivers is full of bass, chords and drums that seem to be unidentifiable in sound. With catchy clich..s and soul wrenching hooks Yero exemplifies totality to the fullest. Through songs like “From Da Hood” Yero speaks on how crack sales fuel hip hop dreams in the genocidal ghetto. He never gets to serious with his word play; however he doesn’t chance his manhood either. There is no chance of failure when you’re at the level this M.C has reached. No gamble for investors, and guaranteed ratings for any network that rotates him. His work ethic pushed him to shoot a video that eventually was put into the Memphis film festival. It can be seen at www.livefrommemphis.com. A break is long over due for this particular performer, thus fueling his ambitions. A demand for reciprocity to the community can be heard throughout his music. So, by way of hip-hop, he plans to reciprocate to the max!
