DJ DANNY MARX

On the 8th day God created HOUSE

About Me

An avid music lover and collector of all styles since his early teens, Danny Marx was bitten by the House music bug in 1996, before finally getting his first set of 1210s in 1998 whilst still at University. A year later he began playing out for the first time, making his name across North London with a series of hugely successful house parties & university gigs.
In 2001 he began to break into London’s club scene, bolstered by a constant stream of well-received mix CDs that he continues to circulate today. Word slowly began to spread and since then Danny has played at some of London's leading parties and clubs with regular appearances for Serious, Dusted and Formula, alongside sets at all of the following: City Loud, The Cross, The Egg, Turnmills, Canvas, The Whitehouse, The Medicine bar and numerous others.
In this relatively short space of time, he has been lucky enough to play alongside some of the biggest names in the business: Norman Jay, Danny Rampling, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Graeme Park, Graham Gold, Bobby & Steve, The Trophy Twins, Matt Hardwick, DJ Rebekah, Oliver Lang, Nicky Holloway, Dina Vass, Raymondo Rodriguez, James Jackson, Rob Marmot, Lady Duracell, Henry Burrows, DJ Roo, Stu Hinge and many more.
Making the switch from vinyl to CDs at the end of 2005, Danny has always loved and played House music in its various forms, however vinyl had limited what he played out. Through the wonder of downloading and Pioneer’s groundbreaking CDJ technology, he has managed to expand his House sound even further to include the full spectrum of all that is cutting edge in the current House music climate, whilst always giving the crowd what they want (no matter what is required musically).
Making his radio debut in 2003, he has hosted his own weekly show “Marxism” ever since: firstly for the hugely popular London station House FM, then for it’s rival station Passion FM and most recently for UK based www.HouseNationUK.com.Experienced within the music industry, he has previously worked as Head of Sales for North London's leading independent record store Ultimate Dance Music , for premier London - based DJ Agency/promotions company Serious and for London’s only free, weekly dance magazine One Week to Live.
House music in all its varying forms will always be his main passion, but he has an extremely broad taste of all musical styles (backed up by a formidable, encyclopaedic knowledge) and he is influenced by many different DJs/artists (see influences).
With a constantly increasing passion and dedication for the scene (unrivalled by many of his contemporaries), his relentless quest to spread his music to as a wide an audience as possible continues apace.
You will no doubt witness this talented DJ for yourself on a dancefloor near you soon…
