DefDFires

DefDFires are a 5 piece hip-hop collective based in north London. Formed in 1999, the crew has spent a large portion the last 8 years dwelling in a secret hideout known only as ‘The Cabin’. In this undisclosed location DDF have honed their technique via vigorous training regimes, building their lyrical skills, production, comic book collection and general disgust at the mainstream hip-hop dribble that dangles like craggot dags off the lips of Satan.After collaborating with Underground Alliance on various mixtapes and live performances DefDFires found that they also had a potent stage presence capable of evoking a berserk, uncontrollable energy in the audience, quicker than an outbreak of rage in a slaughter house. Rumors spread, lives were changed; it had begun…Soon after they gained the approval of the mystical shaman Unkle Jazza, who had noticed the strength of the group’s collective aura, therefore approving them to be beseeched by his wisdom. He showed the boys that the first step in their vital quest to counteract the evil, broadcast into our squeaky-clean brains by the reptilian media, was to create an album. After spending years trying to create a unique sound, they eventually found a method of combining old toenails, melted butter, female sweat, marijuana-twigs and grated Chopin vinyl into a gelatinous matter somehow audible to human ears. The end result was ‘A PRELUDE’. A selection of DDF works so far, released on Filthy Habits and available for purchase now (see below).With their debut making an impact and raising eyebrows across the country with their live performances, DefDFires seem well on the way towards freeing this zombie nation as the ancient prophecy foretold. Rumors have begun to circulate regarding new releases and solo projects on the horizon; as well as collaborations with other members of the LEFTOVERS COLLECTIVE, such as INVERTED COMAS and SALAMANDER, plus live bands GENTLE MYSTICS, MASTERS OF DEATH and THE INSAITABLE.
