About Me

I am a Single 30 year old female. At the present moment in my life, I am working full time, attending college full time, and am a single mother of an amazing six year old. I am working on a paralegal degree for now, I should graduate in May of 2007, then I am off to finish the bachelor degree at UTC (in what I am not sure, probably criminal justice), then I am probably off to Vanderbilt for my law degree. But just maybe I could get a scholarship to one of the bigger schools, I would go. I have always said if it happened my bags were packed yesterday, that it would be stupid to pass up an opportunity like that.

When it comes to going to law school I have a couple personal driving forces that make me want to achieve this. First, I should tell you what it is that I am going to specialize in and it is entertainment law. This is for all those musicians that I know and love (some of you, I am so close with that it drives me crazy to see you represented so badly, you need someone who is willing to be honest with you) and my wonderful son. As before I mentioned he is six. He is in the first grade and testing at a third grade math level and a fifth grade reading level (this is self driven, he just loves to learn), therefore, I want to put him in private school (you know every parents wants their child to have the best and I am no different), and the only way to do that was to go back to school and finish my education, so, when he started school in the fall of 2005, so did I. It was hard to walk back into a classroom after ten years, but I did it. And just to brag a little, I did it with honors for both semesters, I am on the deans list and in the honors society, Phi Theta Kappa. I did do some college after high school, but at that point in my life it was not right. Anyhow, it is hard to be gone all the time, but I know in the end the results are going to be well worth it for myself, my son and so many other people. It does, however, get frustrating. But here is something that helps me get through some of it and it is that which does not kill us, makes us stronger. I know everyone should know that one.

As you can see I lead a busy life, but not too busy to want a good man in my life. There are things that I would like in him, but in this space I am only going to give up some basics. First he must like children, because I have one. It would be great if he had a backbone, like not being scared to talk to me, and not being scared to say no.

January

As the New Year has started, I would like to recall some of the previous year. A lot happened; I had surgery on both knees, the right one in April and the left one in August. That was great. My grades for both Spring and Fall were awesome. Still on the Dean's List and going strong for this semester. The biggest thing that took place was this fellow. He reminded me loving someone besides my son was good for me. He also reminded me that a break up hurts. But it was good for my heart and soul. I remembered how good it feels to let someone in. He also turned me on to a bunch of music that I might not have found with out him. And the best thing of all is we are still friends. I cherish his friendship more today then I did three years ago. So I thank you, I will let you remain unnamed on here. You know who you are and those closest to me know who you are.

Now on to the New Year. I expect great things from me this year!!! LOL Honestly, I do. I will graduate this may with my paralegal degree. I will start a four year institute this fall to finish the bachelor degree. As you see I did not name the next school, because I am not sure where I will be. I plan on getting a new job this summer. I am excited about that and yet saddened. I have been with my present employer for a while. And as always I expect to catch plenty of shows from my local bands and plenty of others this year.

Now my son he keeps me busy. I love that. I personally don't feel like I get to spend enough time with him, but when we are together, we make it count. He and I plan on doing a lot together this summer too. We are going to go some museums, and swimming all of the time, just like last summer. Anyhow, this is about all of I can thank of. Maybe I will do more later.

May

I graduated Saturday. That was an awesome feeling, to walk across the stage. So, if anyone has noticed the hair has changed. I Had too. No choice. I want that good job. There will be more pictures posted as time goes on with the new hair. Now, that it is summer and the year of me is officially over, it is time to concentrate on my son, especially since he will be going to stay with his father for a while, I want to get in as much time with him as I can. I can't wait. We love going swimming and to the zoo and all that good stuff. Our summers our great. Ha Ha

Now that it is summer, I also am starting to anticipate the fall semester. It will be at UTC. Things fell through going to Mississippi State. It deeply saddens me. But I will be able to accomplish a little more at UTC. And I will be home. Nothing has changed with my intentions. I still want to attend Vanderbilt. I still want a full law degree. I still plan on practicing entertainment law. I have some good friends that I would like to think are counting on me to get this degree. As I am counting on them to push their music.

Mommy and son!!!

For Now life is still wonderful. I have enjoyed the time away from my son for the last six weeks, but I sure am ready to go and get him Thursday. I have not done much since he left, just been lazy. It has been nice not hearing him yell, but lonely on the flip side. Again, I am excited to go and get him. WOOHOO!!!!! For all those who care, I talk to him constantly and he is enjoying himself, but missing me.

As, of schooling, I am finally getting the internship done. I am doing it in family law?! Don’t ask! I know I even changed the hair to get into a good law firm and that did not happen. But anyhow. I am finishing my registration for UTC, to finish the bachelor’s degree. I will do it in legal assisting. I have to get off the ass and finish registering. UGH!!! I did graduate in May with a 3.8 GPA and walked with the honor of Cum Laude. That felt really nice. I have enough faith in me that when I am done at UTC my grades will be the same. I have really enjoyed the summer of no school, I thought my head would explode at the end of this last semester with everything that has been going on. It is over though!!!

Now on to my summer expeditions for my self, ha ha, I did nothing really exciting. I did one out of town show and that was going to Nashville to see Ligion at home. I am a sucker for a good show and these guys can do it. I had not done the travel to see one of their home shows, but the previous three that I had seen here at home in Chattanooga, was awesome. It also does not hurt that one of my favorite songs of theirs is only played at home now. So to hear it I had to do the traveling. But there was a bonus to the plan, Black Stone Cherry was headlining and I have seen them twice before. I knew the show I was going to was good and now I have found a bar in Nashville that I like too. It felt like home. Ha Ha. It had a back porch.

Along with the out of town show I naturally have been out almost every weekend catching local acts. I would not know what to do with out them performing and keeping me busy. I have also got to see some bands for the first time this summer like The Loose Screws, The Emotron, Stone Line, Southern Mental Illness, Colossick, Armazilla, Coathanger Abortion, and mind has gone blank. Sorry guys, I will eventually remember and you will be put into the music section, everyone goes there. It helps me remember what bands that I have seen, it gets to be hard after you have been doing it awhile.

Life is still good for me right now. I still enjoy seeing the local bands play. I love it when they pull a crowd. I also love taking pictures of them. You should check out some of them that I have posted. These are some of my favorite people. Not only is their music divine but so is their personalities.

My Interests

I have lots of interest. I go to monster truck rallies (with my son, we go in January to Atlanta every year), I love live music (not too picky about who is playing either), movies, computers, tv shows, and one of the biggest things also is nature. I like to go walking, swimming, and being outside. In this area I am pretty easy going. I am also a bit of a picture nut. I always have my camera with me. I enjoy taking pictures of just about anything. I have links posted under band names, these would be pictures of these bands that I have personally taken. To me it is a great hobby.

I'd like to meet:

In general there are not too many people I would not like to meet. I like to make new friends. It is fun. Fun is good. But the biggest thing about meeting people is, I like to meet people who add to my life not take away. There is something you should know about me and that is I do live by the golden rule when it comes to people. I do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I take this very serious. You get what you give in your life and I try to do only good. Don't get me wrong (I am not a goody goody girl, I do have streaks), I can also be a complete bitch when pushed there, I just prefer to surround myself with people who don't push me all the way there. It is cool to test the limits (occasionally), because I can handle myself. I just don't intentionally do people wrong, and prefer to be treated the same way.

Who would I like to meet? I would like to meet people who are true to themselves. Who speak what is on their mind and not afraid too. I also like to meet bands, because one day they will be my bread and butter. I would also like to see them succeed.

To be honest when it comes to meeting people, I would like to meet someone who is honest, understanding, and independent. I am not necessarily on here to meet "Mr. Right", but if it happens hey, who the hell am I to argue with fate. LOL!!!!!!

Ok, I have seen enough bands that travel in to make their own section, rember this is a work in progress, so it will take some time, there is one exception, Ligion, is not local for me, they are from Nashville, but to me they are locals, Ligion and his girl, Amanda, have always been good to me, just like my locals are, so, they stay where they are, but I felt as though they needed to be mentioned here also. Back to what I was saying, this spot is for those locals who are not locals, but frequent our local bars. I like you guys. Thanks for coming to our small bars in Chattanooga!!!

Sista Otis,
Plain Jane Automobile,
Victim of Thought,
Colossick,
Shadowax,
After The Crash,

Now when it comes to music that is not locally done, I listen to a lot, but here in the last couple of years I listen to more bands that I have seen live than anything else. There are so many there, that if I did not buy any merchandise from the show, I don’t necessarily remember all that I have seen. I do have a couple of pictures that I am working on uploading. So here we go:

Clutch ( I have seen these guys in four different cities in three different states in a six month time frame a couple of years ago. They have one of the best live shows),
Evans Blue,
Black Stone Cherry,
Hinder,
10 Years,
Mercy Fall,
32 Leaves,
Buckcherry,
Non Point,
Kerbslider (from England),
Egypt Central,
Candlebox (has to be in my top 10 fave bands especially live),
Injected,
Crossfade,
Operator,
Jackyll,
Headstrong,
Switched,
Breaking Benjamin,
Chevelle,
Silvertide,
Soil,
Reba McIntyre,
Kenny Rogers,
Presence,
Puddle of Mud,

Here is a list of bands that I would love to see live. Now with as cheap as I am that may never happen. LOL. But, perhaps this law thing will totally work out and money won’t be as much as of an issue, than it is today. So, for now, I have to stick to my budget of $20 or less for a show.

Rancid,
Transplants,
Gadjits,
Dropkick Murpheys,
Flogging Molly,
Time Again,
Jewel,
Marilyn Manson,
Nine Inch Nails,
Tool,
Nirvana,
Primus,
The Cranberries and I could go on for days.

Honestly, I am not a music snob. I just love music, almost all music. I do plan on being an entertainment lawyer, just for those local bands that need a good lawyer.

Movies:

I am usually slow at seeing movies. I like them all, scary, funny, tear-jerkers, and action. Again like the music, I am not picky. I just like good ones and I can deal with watching bad ones too.

Television:

I like crime shows. I am a CSI nut, meaning I watching them all, CSI Miami, CSI, and CSI New York. I also watch NCIS, The Unit, Criminal Minds, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Gallactica, Family Guy (you just have to love Stewie), Futurama, a lot of cooking shows (like the competition ones), home improvement shows, and educational shows (Discovery, Science, Military, Travel, and the History channel).

Books:

Honestly, besides a school book, I have not taken the time to read anything that was not required for a while. I can't wait until I reach a point in my life that I have the time to read again and am ready to take the time to do it. The last book I read was Marilyn Manson's autobiography and it was good. I do like Ann Rice, Isaac Asamov, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and other authors. I don’t do romance novels.

Heroes:

I have several heroes. One is my parents. They put up with a lot of shit and are always coming back for more. They don't give up hope, just because something bad has happened, they are honest, caring, strong, respectful, and everything I want to be when I and their age. I have one other here that really sticks out to me and it is a character on a TV show. The show is NCIS, and the character is Abby. She still dresses the way she wants to and it does not matter, the only thing that matters is Abby’s brains, and I hope that I can get through Law school with my funky hair! I just added a new hero to my list, I was watching Rachel Ray on the Road and she was in Seattle Washington, and she was interviewing a bar owner and this lady is a lawyer and has owned this club (The Crocodile) for fifteen years! I so want to meet her.

Wow, if you made it this far, you may be one of my heroes, too!!!!!!!
