Heroes:

"Curious, friendly, and social -- he'd be a great Parrot Head" ~Save the Manatee Club on MargaritoMargarito, 24 and son of Lily, can be found hanging out at Blue Springs State Park during the winter. The warm waters of Blue Springs are an attractive refuge for Margarito and other manatees. (Blue Spring State Park in Florida)Margarito also stayed at Sea World where he was treated for flipper entanglement. After his release, another encounter with fishing line outside the Blue Spring area severed his right flipper. The scars on his back were caused by boats. (Margarito)Despite these horrific accidents, the still handsome Margarito has somehow adapted to life with only one flipper. He has learned to eat, swim, play and otherwise get along. He travels with his good friend Brutus and continues to return to Blue Spring each winter.(He and his mother were adopted in 2005 to a human sponsor through the Save the Manatee Club.)www.savethemanatee.org www.shipshapeclothing.com/manatees
