MESSAGE POSTED 24/9/08: The next two PitchBlack events have just been announced, and what a massive few nights we are in for! Get ready for PitchBlack Heaven and Hell! Split over two nights, these events promise to provide a platform for some insane outfits, even more rediculous decor and lighting, and some of the best sounds from each end of the Trance spectrum. We have a Special Interstate Guest for out Hell event who will be announced Officially in a few weeks time :) Watch this space for more info.

MESSAGE POSTED 13/4/08: Yo yo! Shad here! PitchBlack @ 39 Club got off to a blinder of a start this weekend! Place was absolutely rockin all night long, with a solid Hobart PitchBlack crew joining forces with those from the North to set a great vibe for party antics! Check out the Album from the night in the pics section on this page!
March 8th has been set at the date for the next PitchBlack installment @ 39 Club, so be sure to come along and join in the fun! If you were one of the lucky ones who was there last Saturday, we hope to see your pretty faces there once again next month!
Will be a bus leaving from the south mid afternoon on the Saturday if anyone wanted to come along for a roadtrip with some fun lovin' Trance nanas ;)

We are proud to annouce the start of a new monthly event in Launceston!! This event will be held @ 39 Club, 35 - 39 Cameron Street, and will showcase the best Tassie has to offer when it come to Hard Dance!! There will also be plenty of feature events with interstate and international acts, so watch out!!
We are also ready to announce the first PB event @ Halo for the year, which will be held on Easter Saturday, the 22nd of March, with the theme of the party being NEON!! More details on this special event + lineup will be announced soon!!

Some big news!! It has been confirmed that The Organ Donors will be making the journey to our island state as part of their Australian tour this December, and will be playing at PitchBlack on the 15th of Dec!! Clear the diary for this one guys, its going to be one hell of a night!!
Also confirmed is Steve Hill, who will return to Halo on the 10th of November to once again raise the roof with his powerful melodies and grinding basslines. Those who have seen Steve on his visit earlier this year will agree that this guy certainly knows how to get a party started!
Also, a big thanks to the guys from 9th Insight, and also Jewelz, who certainly left a smile on the faces of those in attendance at the PitchBlack Birthday last weekend.

MESSAGE POSTED 22/7/07: ::EVENT RECAP:: Another night of PitchBlack madness, and another night of insane fun for those who attended the Nik Fish event last night!! The music was bangin all night long, setting the perfect vibe for party antics, much to the delight of the dedicated crowd, who stayed til the sun rose in the early hours of Sunday! Liv and JFX got the night off to a great start with some very solid tech/hard trance, which slowly built in intensity setting the perfect stage for Nik Fish, who certainly gave the Hard Dance enthusiast their fix of slammins beats!! Shad then continued from Niks vibe through to the early hours of the morning! Overall, a great night was had by all, Nik had a blast, and wants to thank everyone who was in attendance for making the night the success it was! You guys rock!!

MESSAGE POSTED 28/5/07: Its has been announced that the first official Pitch Black vs Pickle night will take place on the 29th of June @ Syrup Nightclub in Salamanca, and will continue as a monthly event (last Friday of every month). The lineup for the first event consists of PKC, Liv, Shad, Corney, Wilco and Scotty Woodhouse! Let me just say we have some big plans in place, so stay tuned for announcements on future events.. ;)

Pitch Black is a Hobart based dance music event, which hosts some of the biggest names in the Australian dance scene! The sound you can expect to hear is best summarised as hard dark and dirty, with a touch of funk!! Pitch Black, while primarily a Hard Trance event, will also provide you with some dirty electro and stomping hard house, meaning you will never know what to expect next!

Dj Shad will punish your senses with his energetic and explosive style of Hard Trance. Rising quickly to become one of Tasmania’s best hard trance DJ’s, Shad has mixed along side some of the best Australian and International talent, and plays regularly at several interstate clubs and events.
Growing up, Shad developed an early passion for the harder sounds of dance music, falling for its infectious energy and euphoria, which quickly lead to the production of his own music. Shad also organises and promotes his own events under the name Pitch Black, playing host to some of the biggest names in the Australian and International dance scene, with acts such as the Organ Donors, Nik Fish, Steve Hill, Jewelz and 9th Insight playing in 2007 alone.
