Kenny Meeks' rootsy new "Unfaded" now available!

About Me

Recording artist and songwriter Kenny Meeks has recently released his newest solo effort, "Unfaded", with help from 2 Grammy award winners, producer Andrew Ramsey, and engineer Hank Williams. This soulful country-rocker's roots project features two guest vocalists, the soulful Nicole Smith (Selah), and the angelic solo artist Sandra McCracken. In 2000, he released his debut album, "Tell My Angel", to warm AAA and country radio reception and critical praise. Fans enjoy Julie Miller's guest vocals on 3 songs! Sixpence None the Richer's Leigh Nash's (Meeks' former band mate) haunting duet vocals on the title track alone are well worth worth the price of the cd. Kenny's 2003 sophomore release, Blue Chapel, is a gospel project. He wrote and performed bluesy gospel songs mostly live in the studio, channeling Rev. Gary Davis and Pops Staples. His alter- (altar?) ego, the Rev. I.B. Longe also makes an appearance. In addition to self-producing each of his own albums, Kenny often wears other hats as musician, and producer, usually to help friends in their creative endeavors. He appears on Jonny Lang's new "Turn Around" cd, on a cut with Sam Bush and Buddy Miller. He co-produced urban folk singer-songwriter Jan Krist's 2001 release, the masterful and sometimes jazzy "Outpost of the Counterculture". Kenny was also co-producer of Derek Webb's powerful 2003 solo debut, "She Must and Shall Go Free", where his alter-ego Rev. I.B. Longe makes another appearance.
