About Me

First off, a quick quote from my girl Cathy that I totally agree with... "When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself."Well, I will keep this relatively short. I am a FL boy who skateboards, plays bass in the ska/punk band RUDE SQUAD, work as Defense Contractor at US Central Command in Tampa, which allows me to travel around the world (ie: Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan just to name a few) (I was a former US Army Officer and NCO), almost done with my PhD, work as an Adjunct Professor (online classes) at Henley Putnam University, used to be a children's mental health social worker and also a child protective services social worker, have piercings, several tatt's, and is up for anything. Crazier the better! I am an avid runner... I run about 3 x's a week, 5-6 miles at a time. It is almost an addiction for me actually.... It also helps me clear my mind from all the stuff I've dealt with at work that day. I like going to bars/clubs to watch bands play, chill at my hometown Irish Pub THE EMERALD, The Bishop, LIMEY's, The Independant Bar, and Mastry's with my bandmates' as well as the Orpheum, Resevoir bar, the New World Brewery, and the Crowbar in Ybor. I skate half-pipes, drink beer, skate bowls, drink beer, skate with all the old guys at the FL Old School Skate Jams (I am one of the old guys now! LOL), did I mention drink beer, and I generally just like things that are drama free and fun. Here I am playing in front of 5000 fans at 97X's Backyard BBQ at Vinoy Park, St. Petersburg, FL...I wrote a Bass Guitar Column for a Florida Metal Magazine called RIVOT RAG for a long time. I also wrote a Bass Guitar Column for www.coffeestain.com, a Florida Music Scene Site, but the site has now become stagnant. I still do session work and used to do a ton of it on the west coast... Now I do a lot of local stuff for bands on bass... I also have a bass cabinet endorsement from none other than ACCUGROOVE Bass Cabs, a Bass String Endorsement from Curt Mangan Bass Strings, and also have my own model bass from M Basses... Some of the past bands I have played with, recorded with, etc are NOBLE JONES (mainstream original Rock), STRICT-9 (Metal with some hiphop), Jeneric (Cover Band), Lazarus Machine (original metal, Killswitch Engage/Mudvayne style), Hell on Earth, Reface the Earth (and from back in the day... CADAVERIC MASS, Basmitist, and The PHILISTINES). I was even given the opportunity a few years back to do the ATHEIST reunion shows and album but that never came to fruition due to one of the main member's other band obligations which he did very well on I might add! Kelly Rocks! Being the bass player to follow the footsteps of their former bass players (Roger Patterson RIP, Tony Choy, and Darren McFarland) would of been a total honor! Learning all their songs again was fun in itself! While in Seattle and Olympia, WA, I played bass in STRETCH and LEADFOOT. And yes, I am part of the BxMxCx! (BEAUTIFUL MENS CLUB; Tampa Chapter) and by the way.... I LOVE DIET COKE!

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet anyone who is cool, chill, laid back, and fun... Please no liars, psycho's, cheater's, and or mean people in general... I have been through that and will waste my time on that B.S. again... Also, I would like to chill with anyone who digs good music, and likes my band RUDE SQUAD! STEVE BAILEY AND I, ONE OF MY FAVORITE BASSISTS AND TEACHERS... .. .. .. ..

Music:

SKA, Punk, Metal, Rockabilly, Jazz, Funk, Rock, even some country.... I am actually on a bass line learning trip right now... My main stuff that I am working on is Jaco Pastorious, his first album, self titled... This album changed my thoughts and style of playing when I was 15 or so after I first heard it. I have actually re-discovered it, wow, it is truly an essential album to have as a bassist. I am also a good friend with Victor Wooten and his family... he has been one of my most influential musicians and teachers of mine... he is truly a gift to the music world... My Bass Guitar Endorsement is exclusively through M BASSES... Check them out online! I have recently been endorsed by the Magnificent Bass Cabinet/Speaker manufacturer Pics of me playing with the rig are in "my photos" visit them at: www.accugroove.com Check it out!!
