She wrote, produced and arranged the single Due Season, which was released by Harmonious Praise in December 2004, and will have other original songs on the groups soon to be released album. This group won the 2006 Marlin Award for Best Contemporary Vocal Performance for the song Due Season and in December 2005 made history when there were announced the winners of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism's 1st Annual Choir Fest. In January 2005, Vanessa won The Peoples Choice Award at the Cacique Awards for the Junkanoo song Hold On To Jesus, along with her musical colleagues in Da FAM Tamika Smith, Kenyatta Taylor, and Rocky Solomon. The group also won the 2006 Marlin Award for Best Junkanoo Vocal Performance of the Year, and participated in Bobby Jones International Music conference held in Miami in Dec. 2004. She also received the Bahamas National Excellence Award for Music Ministry for her contribution to the gospel music industry in The Bahamas. Vanessa is also a featured lead soloist with another one of the Bahamas top gospel groups, Shaback. She won the 2006 Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Award for Best Praise and Worship Recording along with this group for the song Jesus, I Love You. As part of the ministry of Harmonious Praise (HP), she has had the opportunity to minister in places such as Berrien Springs, Michigan; Chicago; Huntsville, Alabama; Jamaica; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Naples; Perrine; Delray Beach; Orlando; Tallahassee as well as various Family Islands including Exuma, Long Island, Grand Bahama, and Abaco. HP also opened for the dynamic gospel duo Mary Mary when they held their first concert in The Bahamas several years ago. The Lord blessed Vanessa with the ability to sing all three parts: soprano, alto and tenor. This ability afforded her the opportunity to do background vocal recordings and work with many people in the Bahamian music industry. Her dream is to one day do an inspirational duet with Yolanda Adams, Lauren Hill, Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey her mentors. I think every woman should own a copy of the MISEDUCATION OF LAUREN HILL ; IT IS PROFOUND. Among her other favourite artists are TONEX, MIchael Jackson ( I don't care what people say , he is a musical genius), Steve Green (my favourite song of alltime is We Believe), Aretha Franklin, Tremaine Hawkins (the original soprano) ( in fact all the Hawkins..Bishop Walter Hawkins because he's " Marvelous" hhahaha and of course Bishop Edwin Hawkins) Andre and Sandra Crouch, Shirley Caesar, Mary Mary, Stevie Wonder ( yummy music), Shaniece, Stacy Lattisaw, Sandi Patti, Patti Labelle, En Vogue ( girls...please get back together..all of you), Mary J Blige..( the original diva), Avion Blackmon, Take Six, Commissioned, Lionel Ritchie, all of the Winans ( CECE, Vickie) and of course, Beyonce (what a great and wonderful voice)..Destiny's Child for their harmonies...good Lord, DC Talk, Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson (he still GOT IT), Michael English, Amy Grant, Kathy Trocolli, and there are so much more I love. can't put you all in here... but love ya....TO LISTEN TO MORE MUSIC CHECK http://www.musicfreedom.com/vanessacordecampbellNew CD Coming Soon!!!
